Washington & Jefferson College senior Kaitlyn Orstein capped her illustrious career with one last NCAA Division III swimming championship.

Orstein, a 14-time All-American, claimed her eighth championship Saturday night in Oxford, Ohio when she won the 200 breaststroke with a school-record time of 2:16.29, more than two seconds better than any other competitor in the field.

"I told myself that I wasn't going to lose the last race of my career," Orstein said. "I'm probably happier than I've ever been, going out on a high note like this."

It was Orstein's third individual championship of the event. She won the 200 IM on Thursday and the 100 breaststroke Friday.

She finished her with three 200 IM national titles, two in the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke and one in the 100 breaststroke.

"It really hasn't sunk in yet," Orstein said. "It is so nice to accomplish this here in front of my parents."
