Yoshi Hino

Yoshi Hino, 88, died Monday, March 19, 2007.

Son Randall (Lori) Hino of McMurray and daughter Cynthia Hino-Jones of Thailand survive.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Westminster Presbyterian Church.

John Frederick Grose

Mt. Pleasant fire company member owned Grose Market

John Frederick Grose, 69, of Hickory, died at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

He was born August 24, 1937, in Washington, a son of Walter R. and Lois J. Alexander Grose.

Mr. Grose was a 1956 graduate of Claysville High School.

He was the owner/operator of Grose Market in West Washington and Hickory for 45 years.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed clowning and playing Santa Claus.

An active member of the community, he was a member of Old School House Players, Avery Methodist Church in Washington, and a life member of Mt. Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Company.

On November 28, 1957, he married Kay Miller, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tracy R. (Don) Hamm of Frederick, Md., and Paige Grose (David) Sisk of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Reginald (Roma) Grose of Hickory and David (Judy) Grose of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Carol J. (David) Reutschi and Ruth Raber, both of Taylorstown; a grandchild, Nathan Alexander Hamm; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, with the Rev. Neal K. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department, 106 Main Street, Hickory, PA 15340, or Old School House Players, Wabash Avenue, Hickory, PA 15340. Mt. Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Irene Moniodes

Member All Saints Greek Orthodox Church

Irene Hartofilax Moniodes, 92, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

She was born March 15, 1915, in Karpathos, Greece, a daughter of the Rev. Vaselis and Stacey Hartofilax.

She was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and Ladies Philoptochos.

Surviving are six sons, John (Olga) of New Castle, William (Kalliope) and Peter Gus (Donna), all of Canonsburg, James (Rita) of Branchburg, N.J., Chris (Peggy) of Bridgeville and George (Tula) of Clearwater, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are husband Pete Moniodes; five sisters; two brothers; a daughter in-law, Barbara; a granddaughter, Catherine; and a great-granddaughter, Alyxsondraa.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday with a Trisagion service at 8 p.m. in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Monday, March 26, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 West McMurray Road, Canonsburg, with Father George L. John D. Robson, 81, of Coal Center, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in his home.

Karlene Linton Stolnacker

Douglassville woman enjoyed nature walks, gardening

Karlene Linton Stolnacker, 67, of Douglassville, formerly of Washington, died at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born January 11, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of Frank Yost and Mae Naragon Linton.

During the time Mrs. Stolnacker resided in Washington, she worked as a sales associate for Country Candles. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Washington and Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church, Douglassville.

She was a graduate of Steubenville Big Red High School and a former nationally ranked tennis player. She enjoyed nature walks, flower gardening, and outdoors.

On May 25, 1963, she married William J. Stolnacker, who died February 1, 1990.

Surviving are a son, David Alan (Donna) Stolnacker of Douglassville; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Stolnacker of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Dorothy Jean Yohn of Stow, Ohio; and a cousin, John (Tinna) Linton of Chicago, Ill.

She also leaves her dog, Buddy.

Deceased is a brother in-law, Robert Yohn.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Fotes Hanjorgiris

Member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church

Fotes (Frank) Hanjorgiris, 77, of Bridgeville, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, with his family at his side.

He was born June 14, 1929, in Canonsburg, a son of Kostis and Fotine Elia Hanjorgiris.

Mr. Hanjorgiris served with the Coast Guard during World War II.

Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Frank's Luncheonette in Squirrel Hill and previously was a waiter at Duquesne Club, Lamonte and several other fine restaurants.

Mr. Hanjorgiris was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Karpathian Club, Cretian Association and Rhodian Club.

On February 4, 1951, he married Virginia (Penny) Orfanon, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Kostas Dean Hanjorgiris of Bridgeville, William F. Hanjorgiris of Manhattan, N.Y., and Fotes F. Hanjorgiris and wife Dawn of Venetia; a daughter, Evanjiline F. Burt and husband Robert of Canonsburg; a brother, William (Bezo) Hanjorgiris of Venice, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Hiras of Elizabeth, N.J., and Georgia Andamasaris of Dormont; five grandchildren, Pannayiota, Christina, Yainni, Alexis and Alaina; four great-grandchildren, Christos, Agape, Evanjaline and Serena; and several nieces and nephews.

W. Marvin Huffman

Owner/operator of Huffman Dry Cleaner and Laundry

W. Marvin Huffman, 96, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, following a lengthy illness.

He was born December 25, 1910, in Spraggs, a son of Shirley Huffman and Dora Phillips Chaney.

A member of First Christian Church of Waynesburg, he was a former member of Waynesburg Elks Lodge 757.

For 76 years, he owned and operated Huffman Dry Cleaner and Laundry in Waynesburg.

Ruth Stewart Huffman, whom he married November 12, 1932, died March 21, 1988.

Surviving are a son, William W. Huffman of Waynesburg; two granddaughters, Kim (Dave) Bedilion and Jackie (Brian) Baker; a great-grandson, Lance Huffman; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Bedilion; a sister, Corrine Fuller of Rochester, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister, Kathleen Albert, and a brother, Don M. Chaney.
