Cal U. student died of alcohol poisoning

A California University of Pennsylvania student who was found dead two weeks ago in a borough apartment died of alcohol poisoning.

The ruling by the Washington County coroner's office was announced Friday in the death of William K. Bobbitt, 19, of Franklin County.

Coroner Tim Warco said the death was an accident, that there was no evidence of suspicion or foul play.

Bobbitt went to his friend's residence on Second Street about 1 a.m. May 1, appearing heavily intoxicated and asking for a place to sleep. Occupants of the apartment found him unresponsive when they awoke nearly eight hours later.
