Fireworks, event information for July 4th
Canonsburg's Fourth of July Committee is altering its annual celebration.
At 9:45 p.m., there will be a fireworks display at Memorial Stadium. Afternoon activities have been changed, partly because of continued planning for a new skateboard park.
Town Park events will focus on the pool, which will offer free admission for everyone from noon to 6 p.m. There also will be prizes, activities and a disc jockey at the pool. Two bands will perform near the willow tree outside of the pool as well.

Fireworks Extravaganza, sponsored by local businesses and the Monongahela Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday at the Aquatorium in Monongahela.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m., with disc jockey Bill Lemon playing favorite tunes and requests. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m. and will be set to patriotic music.
The event and parking are free and there will be food available for purchase. Rain date is Sunday.
Washington
Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday at Washington Park.
Waynesburg
Saturday's Fourth of July celebration at Greene County Fairgrounds is being sponsored for the 18th year by the Waynesburg Lions Club.
A classic car show and karaoke contest take place in the afternoon with the Little Miss Firecracker pageant at 6 p.m. Opening ceremonies with Lions President Eleanor Chapman include the presentation of colors and national anthem at 5:30 p.m. In the evening, there will be country music by Stampede of Canonsburg and a Let Freedom Ring concert by Heaven Bound Ministries. The evening concludes with fireworks. Admission is free.
