EDINBORO, Pa. (AP) — The driver who police say caused a two-car crash that killed three Edinboro University students last week had been cited for careless driving and underage drinking three days earlier.
Court records show campus police cited 18-year-old Domenico Crea, of Erie, after he allegedly drove 40 mph in a campus parking lot, and was later determined to be drinking on Nov. 8, about 3 a.m.
Police say Crea was speeding and trying to pass another car when he crashed head-on into another vehicle near the school Wednesday afternoon. Crea and his passenger, 18-year-old John Eyrolles of Pittsburgh, were killed as was the other driver, 21-year-old Sheldon Harmon of Bolivar, N.Y.
Edinboro is one of 14 state-owned universities in Pennsylvania. It is located about 15 miles south of Erie.
