CAROL C. LEMLEY CAIN
Carol C. Lemley Cain, 80, of North Side, Pittsburgh, died Saturday, June 7, 2008.
She was the beloved wife of Robert Cain; and mother of Roy (Geraldine) Lemley of Dover, Linda (Jack) Pelles of Pittsburgh, Ray (Charlotte) Lemley of Roaring Spring, Margaret (Jamie) Anderson of Pueblo, Colo., Richard (Diane) Lemley of Kissimmee, Fla., and Susan (the late Randy) Dugan of Waynesburg.
Also surviving are two stepchildren, Robin Cain of Pittsburgh and Nancy (Bob) Teed of Kingsville, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Mrs. Cain is resting in peace. She believed strongly in the Resurrection.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Robinson Funeral Home Inc., 2025 Perrysville Avenue, Perry Hilltop, Pittsburgh. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21, in Allegheny Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2701 North Charles Street, Pittsburgh.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to either National Kidney Foundation or Allegheny Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for the worldwide work.

ELSIE TROSKY DOWNER
Loving mother, grandmother
Elsie Trosky Downer of Columbia, Md., died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in her home, with her family by her side.
She was born December 29, 1929, in Slovan.
Mrs. Downer was a 1947 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown and moved to Washington, DC, where she worked for the FBI.
In 1955, she married Donald Downer, her high school sweetheart.
Surviving are five daughters, Theresa Ellen Downer of Columbia, Md. (her caregiver and best friend), Karen Downer Schaefer and husband Carl of Cary, N.C., Betty Downer Coppic and husband Jay of Destin, Fla., Sandra Downer McGuire and husband Peter of Atlanta, Ga., and Janice Downer Twardowicz and husband Mike of Columbia, Md.; six grandchildren, Jett of Cary, N.C., Katie, Jamie and Nicole of Columbia, Md., and Spencer and Becca of Atlanta, Ga.; and sisters Martha and Betty.
She was dearly loved by her grandchildren, who will miss her sparkle, her sense of humor, sweet hugs and funny sayings.
Deceased are her parents, Mary and Makar; her sisters Mary, Dorothy and Sonia; and brothers Butch and Nick.

CLARA ALMEDIA GREENE
Owned New York Café, Washington
Clara Almedia Greene, 88, of Washington, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in her residence.
She was born November 14, 1919, in Washington, a daughter of Roy and Evelyn Baumgardner Cummings.
Mrs. Greene owned New York Café in downtown Washington.
She enjoyed crafts and making baby dolls and was a former member of LOOM, where she had played dart ball.
Mrs. Greene was Protestant.
Surviving are a son, Glenn Warrington of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Shirley Bertus of Hawaii and Janet Plutch of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her pet poodle, Pretty Boy.
Deceased are her husbands, Fred Morosky and Raymond Greene; and a brother, Edward Cummings.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, with Pastor Domenick Sgro officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.

GERALD M. HUGHES
WWII vet owned Gerald M. Hughes Insurance Agency
Gerald M. Hughes, 87, of Graysville (Richhill Township), died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, following a brief illness.
He was born April 22, 1921, in Richhill Township, Greene County, a son of Leslie M. and Cassie Odessa McCracken Hughes, and had been a resident of Richhill Township all his life.
Mr. Hughes was a member and former elder of Harmony Presbyterian Church, Wind Ridge.
He was a 1940 graduate of the former Richhill Township High School and Dale Carnegie School and had attended Penn State University.
Mr. Hughes was a World War II veteran serving as a staff sergeant with the 20th Regiment 6th Infantry Division Company I and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze service stars and one bronze arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was so well thought of by an Army friend that he named a son after Mr. Hughes.
He was a former Boy Scout leader and served as secretary for Greene County Mutual Insurance Co. in Wind Ridge and also was a member of the Jacktown Fair Board.
Mr. Hughes and his wife were co-owners of the former Bristoria Store and raised sheep, beef cattle and operated a dairy farm for several years. He retired in 1990 after 40 years as the owner of Gerald M. Hughes Insurance Agency in Waynesburg.
On September 30, 1950, he married Carolyn Ruth Scott, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Dennis, husband of Pam Hughes of Spring Valley, Wis., and Jeffrey, husband of Kay Hughes of Graysville; three daughters, Linda Susan Hughes of Tampa, Fla., Alena, wife of David Harris of Graysville and Julie, wife of Larry Roth of Washington; two brothers, Byron, husband of Virginia Hughes of Holbrook and Eugene, husband of Mary Lou Hughes of Graysville; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Jane Abel and Marie Grimes.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, with Lay Speaker Mark McMillen officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Harmony Presbyterian Church, PO Box 15, Wind Ridge, PA 15380. LINDA L. POWELL
Devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother
Linda L. Powell, 53, of Cecil, died Monday, June 16, 2008, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born July 28, 1954, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Harry Weitzel Jr. of Bethel Park and the late Betty Cricks Weitzel.
Mrs. Powell graduated from Bethel Park High School, Class of 1972.
She worked for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the early 90's in their sales department and was a teacher's aide at Central Christian Academy for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Powell was a member of Central Assembly of God Church.
She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and devoted herself to her church.
On July 8, 1972, she married Harry M. Powell, who survives.
Also surviving is daughter, Julie (fiancé Eric Chandler) Powell of Cecil; a son, Jason Powell of Cecil; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Powell.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, in Central Assembly of God Church, Houston, with the Rev. Stephen Getchell officiating. The family suggests donations be made in her memory to Central Christian Academy, 145 McGovern Road Houston, PA 15342. Arrangements are being handled by Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. WILLIAM BERT RANKIN
WWII vet retired
from Jessop Steel
William Bert Rankin, 86, of Holiday, Fla., died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, following a brief illness, and happily spent his last years with his loving companion Matilda Phillips.
He was born in 1922, in East Bethlehem, a son of John and Ethel Rankin.
Mr. Rankin served aboard the USS Herbert during World War II and was employed at Jessop Steel in Washington, where he retired in 1981. He and his wife then moved to Florida.
He was married for 51 years to his beloved wife, Mary Gail Rankin, who is deceased.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Judy Kern Rankin of Oviedo, Fla.; a daughter, Andrea Morgan of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Julie, Marc, Jason and Johnna; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Jack and Sam "Dude" Rankin; and a sister, Fern Morgan.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Fla. (west of Orlando), with private burial at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 21. ETHEL MAE COCHRANE SINKO
Retired bookkeeper was Sunday school, VBS teacher
Ethel Mae Cochrane Sinko, 86, of Masontown, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born March 28, 1922, in Salisbury, a daughter of Clarence A. and Lillian M. Wagner Cochrane.
Mrs. Cochrane was a 1939 graduate of German Township High School and chaired many reunion committees for her class.
She was a member of McClellandtown Presbyterian Church, where she served many years as an elder and clerk of session, a member and teacher of Grove Sunday school class and a vacation Bible school teacher. She chaired the mission committee and was a member and past president of Presbyterian Women's Association and a member of Busy Needles Knitting Group.
A retired bookkeeper, Mrs. Cochrane worked for Union Supply Co. Store, Leckrone, West Penn Power Co., Bortz Oil Co. and Bortz Chevrolet/Cadillac.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy A. Sinko Morgan and husband William of Danville, Ky., and Rita M. Sinko of Masontown; two brothers, Robert L. Cochrane and wife Evelyn of Masontown and Paul E. Cochrane of Elyria, Ohio; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her beloved husband, John D. Sinko; and two brothers, Clarence Cochrane Jr. and Fred Cochrane.

Patricia A. Muschick Trocano, 69, of Peters Township, died Monday, June 16, 2008, after a short battle with cancer and related illnesses.
She was a 1957 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School.
Mrs. Trocano was a corporate secretary for HAPAD Inc., from where she retired in 2001 after more than 20 years of service. She also worked as office manager for Trocano and Sons.
She was a member of Red Hat Society and enjoyed traveling by RV as "co-pilot" for her husband.
She was the beloved wife of Bob Trocano for 48 years, whom she married August 20, 1960; a loving mother of Bobby (Amy Sampey) Trocano, Donna (Don Busch) Trocano and Steve (Linda) Trocano; a proud grandmother of Anthony, Nick and Annalise Trocano and Amanda and Jim Booth; and sister of Delta (Randall) Koontz and Debra (Bruce) LaButis.
Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. William J. Wald, 80, of South Fayette, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008.
He was born December 1, 1927, a son of Raymond and Mary Stewart Wald.
He was the loving father of William (Sharon) Wald of Wrightsville, Ga., Raymond (Patricia) Wald of Washington, Mark (Donna) Wald of Scenery Hill and Kate Wald of South Fayette; devoted grandfather of Melissa Amos of Washington, Sgt. Steven Stewart, serving in Iraq, and Katharine Stewart of Washington; and cherished great-grandfather of Stephen and Jeffrey of Washington.
Mr. Wald served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked at Union Electric in Carnegie and was a member of Houston Veterans of Foreign Wars.
