MORRIS DELIERE
WWII Marine veteran, Cecil Junior High teacher
Morris Deliere, 89, of Cecil, died Friday, September 5, 2008, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born February 13, 1919, in Cecil, a son of Joseph and Augustine Vareaux Deliere.
He lived in Cecil all of his life and was the last of his immediate family.
Mr. Deliere served in World War II as a master sergeant in the Marines, where he earned a Purple Heart and Gold Star in lieu of a second Purple Heart for wounds received as a result of enemy action in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He was a member of St. Mary Parish, Cecil, its Hilltoppers and Men's Club and Cecil American Legion Post 793.
Mr. Deliere worked as a schoolteacher for Canon-McMillan School District at Cecil Junior High School, where he taught all subjects and retired as a physical education instructor in 1979 after 33 years of service. He was an athletic director for Cecil Junior High and was a football coach of the former Cecil High School.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Emil (Barbara) Deliere of Upper St. Clair and Tanny Deliere of Cecil; a daughter, Bernadette (Gene) Bonner of Cecil; and eight grandchildren, Corey, Dominique, Marcelle, Tanny and Kyle Deliere and Patrick, Alissa and Derek Bonner.
Deceased are his wife, Louise Deliere, who died in 2005; six brothers, George, Harry, August, Emil, Louis and Tanny Deliere; a sister, Mary Deliere; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Deliere, who died in 2004.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50), Cecil, PA 15321, where services will begin with parting prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 8, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, with Father Stan Gregorek officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cecil.

COOPER DAVID JOHNSON
Cooper David Johnson, infant son of Jonathan Stewart Johnson and Tammie Leigh Stopka Johnson of Waynesburg, died peacefully in his parents' arms, shortly after his birth Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Pittsburgh.
Also surviving are siblings Dustin Michael Cowell, Dylan Tyler Cowell and Olivia Daye Johnson of Waynesburg; paternal grandparents Stewart and Sally Jo Oriengia Johnson of Waynesburg; maternal grandparents Joseph M. and Elaine Pettit Stopka of Amity; a maternal uncle, Michael Nathan Stopka and wife Laura of Amity; and a maternal aunt, Rebecca Elaine Stopka Kaczmark and husband Todd of Amity.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, in First Baptist Church, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Donald P. Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for Cooper David Johnson Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. DOROTHY AIVALOTIS MCCARTNEY

Dorothy Aivalotis McCartney, 86, of Carnegie, died Thursday, September 4, 2008, in Kane Hospital, Scott Township.
She was born September 12, 1921, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of John and Loretta Powelson Aivalotis.
Mrs. McCartney was a cashier in the custom shirt shop of Kaufmann's until retiring in 1981.
She was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church.
On September 1, 1954, she married Robert Murray McCartney, who died May 15, 1984.
Surviving are a sister, Gladys Hampson of Pamplico, S.C.; a brother, Harry Aivalotis of Wheeling, W.Va.; three grandsons, Michael, David and Matthew Burtt; and five great-grandchildren, Coleman, Chandler, Victoria and Majken Burtt and Alexander Brewer.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, Richard Keith McCartney; and three brothers, Jack, Nicholas and Robert Aivalotis.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 8, with the Rev. Justin Amsler, pastor of McDonald Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.

SHIRLEY ANN PRESUTTI
1936-2008
Shirley Ann Presutti, 71, of Burgettstown, Hanover Township, died Friday, September 5, 2008, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born October 19, 1936, in Frankfort Springs, a daughter of the late Brady and Olive Drake Watson.
Mrs. Presutti enjoyed gardening, her dogs and, most especially, spending time with her grandchildren.
On December 18, 1954, she married Sam Presutti, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Gary Presutti and wife Kim of Weirton, W.Va., and Michael Presutti and wife Sandra of Imperial; and two grandchildren, Dominic and Christopher Presutti.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, John and Wendell Watson; and two sisters, Louella Paylock and Wanda Nicklodi.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 8, with the Rev. Dominic Mancinni officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.

Wash. Co. deputy sheriff owned Price Industrial Inc.
Brian Scott Price Sr., 37, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, September 4, 2008.
He was born May 10, 1971, in Washington, a son of Bill and Kathy Rudge Price of Canonsburg.
Mr. Price was a 1989 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity and a graduate of Allegheny County Police Academy.
He worked as a Washington County deputy sheriff.
Mr. Price was the first Washington County deputy to win a physical fitness award.
He owned Price Industrial Inc. and was preparing to open SANTE Wine Bar in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Price was serving on a steering committee for Pittsburgh's 50 Finest, where he was a member in 2006.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed racing motorcycles, waterskiing and boating.
Surviving, along with his parents, are his children, Brian Scott Price Jr. and McKenzie Elizabeth Price; a brother, Daryl W. Price of Washington; a sister, Amy (Chris) Mary of Houston; aunts and uncles Peggy (Ray) Pizzi, Wendy (Ralph) Liberatore, Bernie (Rene) Price and Randy (Thresa) Price; and seven cousins, R.J. and Eric Pizzi, Melissa Evans, Chris Liberatore, Tami Demascal and Ashley and Keilyn Price.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 8, with the Rev. Retired electrician served in U.S. Marine Corps
Clarence E. Russell Jr., 68, of Greensboro, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, in his home.
He was born February 18, 1940, in Washington, a son of Clarence E. Russell Sr. and Elva McCartney Russell.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Miller Russell; two daughters, Dorothy Cralton of Dilliner and Rebecca Ryan of Follansbee, W.Va.; three sons, Earnest Lancaster of Mather, Clarence Russell III of Canonsburg and Franklin Russell of Waynesburg; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Olive Morris of Washington.
Mr. Russell was a retired electrician and enjoyed working on computers in his spare time.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1950s and early 1960s.
He was a member of Confirming Word Ministries of Masontown and was a member of American Legion Post 499, Point Marion.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon until 1 p.m., the time of services, Sunday, September 7, in Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, (724-966-5100), Paul M. Hillard H. Whipkey, 66, of Waynesburg, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2008, in his home.

102-year-old former resident of Washington
Elizabeth (Betty) Williams, 102, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Washington, passed peacefully Thursday, September 4, 2008.
She was born February 4, 1906, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Gaul.
Mrs. Williams lived her adult life in Washington until she moved to Venice in 1995 to live with her daughter.
She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and formerly worked in City Hall of Washington.
Surviving, in addition to daughter Mrs. Dolores (Dee) Haines McLaughlin and husband Harry, are two grandchildren, Kathleen Johnston and William Haines and wife Sharon; three great-grandchildren, Brian and Kelly Haines and Jason Johnson; three stepgrandchildren, Mary Jo Eland, Robert McLaughlin and Dawn Wilson; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Kristine Ziegler, Keri Walters and Tara and Melissa Curtis; a great-great-grandson, Colin Haines; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Madison Ziegler and Elijah Walters; and a niece.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, William A. Williams, who died in 1983; sisters Mary Cook and Anna McKenna; and brothers Martin and John Estoker and Steve Gaul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 8, in Immaculate Conception Church, West Chestnut Street, Washington. Entombment will take place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, sympathy contributions may be made to The Pines of Sarasota, 1501 North Orange Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34236-2631.
