Loislee Brandyberry, 82, of Sebring, Ohio, died Friday, September 5, 2008, in Copeland Oaks, Sebring, after an unexpected illness.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, the Rev. Abraham L. Brandyberry of Copeland Oaks; three daughters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Adams of Ponte Vedra, Fla., Sara Kibler of Medina, Ohio, and Lisa Hoobler of Canton, Ohio; two sons, Jon (Cindy) Brandyberry of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Daniel (Donna) Brandyberry of Marietta, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. David (Carol) Vogel and Elda Mae Kemper both of Canonsburg; and a brother, Dr. Leon (Eva June) Kemper of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of services, Monday, September 8, in Westbrook Park United Methodist Church, Canton, Ohio, with the Rev. Jonathan R. Reese officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery, Canton. GENEVIEVE PHILLIPS DULANEY

Member of American Quilt Association was 4-H leader

Genevieve Phillips Dulaney, 82, of Spraggs, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008, in Donnell House, Washington, following an illness of the past year.

She was born Monday, March 15, 1926, in Center Township, a daughter of Floren J. Phillips and Ferne L. Knight Phillips.

She was a member of Spraggs United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Dulaney was a member of American Quilt Association and was a former 4-H leader.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and hand crafts.

She made a quilt for Stern and Foster Quilting Co. for the 1976 Bicentennial, which is now on display in the Textile Museum in Chicago, Ill.

A homemaker, she worked for several years for Greenway Manufacturing Co., Waynesburg, as a seamstress. She also worked as a cook in the former Wayne Township Elementary School.

Surviving are her husband, William Lindsay Dulaney, whom she married on June 20, 1946; a daughter, Coral Lea and husband Roger Westfall of Front Royal, Va.; two sons, Terry C. Dulaney and Larry D. and wife Jan Dulaney, both of Spraggs; four grandchildren, Jason Dulaney, Lisa Dulaney, Kyle Westfall and Joel Westfall; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Dulaney and Keegan Dulaney; two sisters, Ruth Hoy of Spraggs and Jean Gordon of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister, Marjorie Calvert, and a brother, Dan Phillips.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. There will be a memorial service held in Spraggs United Methodist Church at a time and date to be announced.

SAMMY GALLO

Brockway Glass retiree was Korean War veteran

Sammy Gallo, 79, of Washington, died unexpectedly Friday, September 5, 2008, in his home.

He was born May 14, 1929, in Washington, a son of Anthony (Tony) and Saveria Fragale Gallo.

Mr. Gallo was a graduate of Trinity High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Gallo was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was a life member of Alpine Lodge.

He was employed for many years by Brockway Glass Plant 7 as a glassworker until his retirement.

Mr. Gallo enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren.

On October 3, 1959, he married Helen Louise Cushman, who died September 20, 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Diana M. (Joe) Dorsey of Avella; a son, Samuel J. (Stacey Verner) Gallo of Washington; two brothers, James (Evelyn) Gallo of Washington and William (Etta Jane) Gallo of Danville, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Joelle Dorsey, Autumn Dorsey and Abigail Verner.

Deceased, in addition to his wife, are four brothers, John, Frank, Joseph and Louis Gallo; and six sisters, Mary McCloskey, Rose Clark, Margaret Barlow, Julia Gallo, Greta Ungvari and Virginia Piszczek.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. FRED WILLIAM MCCLOSKEY SR.

Retired Baptist minister was WWII veteran

The Rev. Fred William McCloskey Sr., 85, passed into the presence of the Lord Friday, September 5, 2008. Most recently a resident of Washington, he formerly lived in Ocala, Fla.

He was born March 15, 1923, in Williamsport, a son of William Fulmer and Helen C. Lindauer McCloskey.

The Rev. McCloskey, a retired Baptist minister, graduated from Lycoming College and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, now known as Palmer Theological Seminary. Over the course of a 35-year ministry, he pastored First Baptist Church in Barnesboro, Lower Dublin Baptist Church in Philadelphia, First Baptist Church in Sayre, First Baptist Church in Wilmington, Ohio, and First Baptist Church in Waverly, N.Y. He also served several interim pastorates.

During World War II, he served with the Army Air Forces in the 30th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, where he was involved in the air offensive in Europe (Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe). His medals include the Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation with one oak leaf cluster and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with six bronze stars.

Mr. McCloskey was involved with Rotary Club and church softball league.

On September 1, 1949, he married Carrie Bastress, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, the Rev. Fred W. (Robin) McCloskey of Washington; a daughter, Natalie (Jimmy) Henning of Hawesville, Ky.; and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Bethany, Joel, Nathan, Micah, Chantelle (Niki) and Marc Frugé.

Deceased are two sisters, Gladys Mesmer and Betty Collins; and a brother, Dalton McCloskey.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, with the Rev. Fred McCloskey Jr. officiating. ANGELINE RODRIGUEZ

Devoted member of Transfiguration R.C. Church

Angeline (Angie) Rodriguez, 79, of Monongahela, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, with her family at her bedside.

She was born August 18, 1929, in Courtney, a daughter of Dominic and Theresa Borrello Appolonia.

Mrs. Rodriguez graduated from Monongahela High School in 1947 and worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone in Monongahela and Charleroi for 10 years. Later in life, she worked in the school cafeteria for Ringgold School District.

She was a devoted life member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 54 years, Arthur (Archie) Rodriguez; three children, Dr. Arthur (Kathleen) Rodriguez of Valencia, Rhea Rodriguez of South Fayette Township and Dr. Randall (Janie) Rodriguez of Finleyville; six grandchildren, Carly, Ryan and Kate Rodriguez and Gabrielle and Garrett Rosa and Gracie Rodriguez; two loving sisters, Mary (John) Ferguson and Bonnie (Phillip) Appolonia, both of Monongahela; and nieces and nephews Robert (Vicki) Ferguson of Finleyville, LuAnn (Larry) Bird of Canonsburg, Phyllis (Ted) Koval of Connellsville and Renee (Phil) Wyatt of Clarksburg, W.Va.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, in Transfiguration Church, Monongahela, with the Rev. George Chortos, pastor, as celebrant. Jane Panzo Trainor of South Park died Saturday, September 6, 2008.

She was the beloved wife of the late James; loving mother of Jeannine and husband Joseph Sartorio and Jamie and wife Dana Trainor; grandmother of Gianna, Talia, Jake and Clare; sister of Dennis and wife Carolyn Panzo and the late Joseph, Billy and Raymond.

HILLARD H. WHIPKEY

Enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading

Hillard H. Whipkey, 66, of Waynesburg, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2008, in his home. He had been in his usual health, and death was due to an apparent heart attack.

He was born Sunday, August 23, 1942, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son of Leroy Royal Whipkey and Mary E. Kight Whipkey.

Mr. Whipkey was affiliated with the Nazarene Church.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading.

Mr. Whipkey worked as a tree trimmer for different companies and also worked for Blair Paving in California.

Surviving are his companion, Carol Donaldson; a daughter, Robin E. Collins of Washington; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Norma Phillips of Waynesburg and Alvina Areford of Rogersville; a brother, Audie L. Whipkey of Waynesburg; two sisters-in-law, Faye Whipkey of Brave and Virginia Whipkey of Mt. Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a daughter, Brenda Durbin; and two brothers, Guy B. Whipkey and Millard Whipkey.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the hour of service, Monday, September 8, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. John Poling officiating. Interment will be in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Township. ANNA KATHRYN WINTERHALTER

Had been active in harness racing at The Meadows

Anna Kathryn "Tootsie" Winterhalter, 89, of Library, formerly of McMurray, died peacefully Saturday, September 6, 2008.

She was born January 11, 1919, in Castle Shannon, a daughter of George R. and Kathryn Grazier Lee.

Mrs. Winterhalter was a graduate of Bethel Park High School, and for many years she and her husband were active in harness racing at The Meadows, having owned many horses.

Surviving are a nephew, Thomas L. (Peggy) Fulmer of Cokeburg; a niece, Linda A. (Greg) Holtz of Jacksonville, Ala.; and a great-niece, Loren L. Girman, also of Jacksonville.

Deceased are her husband, William M. Winterhalter; and a sister, Elva Marie Lee Fulmer.

Mrs. Winterhalter was the last of her immediate family.
