Annadill C. Bigler
of IC Church
Annadill C. "Oma" Bigler, 100, of East Washington, died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009, in McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born March 4, 1909, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Charles R. and Mary E. Quinn Rodgers.
Mrs. Bigler was a 70-year member of Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Christian Mothers of the church.
She was a member of Washington Hospital Auxiliary AARP and was a charter member of Christian Mothers Rosary Society.
Mrs. Bigler attended diocesan schools of Pittsburgh, graduated from Carlow College and attended Penn State University. She taught in the Pittsburgh diocesan schools for 15 years, three years at St. Boniface in the North Side of Pittsburgh and 12 years at Immaculate Conception Grade School in Washington.
She loved to play bridge.
On June 4, 1931, she married John B. Bigler, who is deceased.
Surviving are a son, W. Walter "Wally" Bigler of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, John A. (Sandy) Bigler of Ohio, Tracy (Alan) Starnes of Ohio, William W. "Spike" (Kathleen) Bigler Jr. of Colorado, Heidi Bigler of Arizona, Jennifer (Jason) Niehoff of Texas, Carrie (Matt) Sellman of Illinois and Ashley Clink of Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jason, John, Clair, Rachel, Nathan, Alexis and Dakota; a daughter-in-law, Ines Bigler of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Maryanne Clink; a son, George B. Bigler; and two sisters, Elizabeth Florian and Marietta Hayes.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A brief prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with the Rev. Nicholas A. Spirko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. The rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday by Christian Mothers of Immaculate Conception Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.WarcoFalvoFuneralHome.com.
