Joseph Corba

Steelworker enjoyed music

Joseph Corba, 86, of Avella, formerly of Bridgeville and Cecil, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, in Canonsburg General Hospital.

He was born March 20, 1923, in Carnegie, a son of the late John and Anna Corba.

Mr. Corba enjoyed music. He played guitar, piano and organ. He also loved caring for his pets.

He worked as a steelworker in the tube mill for Teledyne Columbia-Summerill Inc., Carnegie Plant.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Corba of Avella; a daughter, Linda Corba Jordan of Washington; a grandson, Jesse (Kristi) Jordan of Baldwin; and a sister, Jean Kozlowski of Crafton.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three brothers, John, Michael and Paul Corba; and four sisters, Mary Franczak, Ann Owl, Julia Fontaine and Millie Ferrone.

Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50), Cecil, PA 15321, where services will be held at 7 p.m. with Monsignor George Appleyard officiating. Private interment will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
