James W. Fuller Sr.
was drag racing enthusiast
James W. Fuller Sr., 68, of Prosperity, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 21, 1941, in Washington, a son of William and Alberta Frye Fuller.
Mr. Fuller attended Washington High School.
He was a retired truck driver, having been employed by the former Suwak Trucking Co. and was a member of Teamsters Local 585.
Mr. Fuller was a drag racing enthusiast and enjoyed camping.
On January 25, 1960, he married Carolyn Bird, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James Fuller Jr. and wife Kathy of Augusta, Ga.; three daughters, Kandy Fuller and Barbara Ringer, both of Prosperity, and Susie, wife of Edward Miller, of Washington; three brothers, Billie, Daniel (Carleen) and Robert (Bonnie) Fuller, all of Washington; three sisters, Shirley Fuller, Karen (Chuck) Megysey and Sandra (Oscar) Gump, all of Washington; and nine grandchildren, "Bud," Jeremy, Josh, Brandon, Kristin, Christine, Alexx, Parker and James Robert.
Deceased are a son, Charles Wayne Fuller, who died in infancy; three sisters, Lorena Craig, Bonnie Orum and Patricia Andreetti; and a brother, Elmer "Buster" Fuller.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hummell and Barnhill Funeral Home Inc., 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, funeral director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, with Florence Drabeck officiating. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
