Houston American Legion Ladies Auxiliary member
Maxine F. Bigley, 82, of Washington, formerly of Houston, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, in Golden Living Center, Canonsburg.
She was born June 1, 1927, in Franklin, a daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle Brown.
Mrs. Bigley was a homemaker and a member of Houston American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
On June 19, 1948, she married James K. Bigley Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela R. Schneider of Claysville and Deborah S. Buck of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Beth Schneider, Nathan Schneider, Angel Blue Schneider, Nolan Schneider and Jennie Buck; and three great-grandchildren, Cassandra Martin, Michael Martin and Khadijah Schneider.
Deceased is a son, James K. Bigley Jr.

Active Harmony Presbyterian Church member
Shirley J. Chambers, 73, of West Finley (Richhill Township), went to be with her Lord at 6:30 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, in Kindred Hospital-Northside, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 14, 1936, in Morris Township, Washington County, a daughter of the late Thomas Leroy Hixenbaugh Sr. and Blanche Sayre Hixenbaugh.
Mrs. Chambers was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church in Wind Ridge, where she was serving as a deacon and choir member at the time of her death.
She enjoyed listening to country music, flower gardening, and the idea and meaning of motherhood.
Mrs. Chambers was an employee of the former Curry Home in Waynesburg, Hillsview Nursing Home in Claysville and was last employed as an in-home caregiver for several area families prior to her retirement in 2005.
On October 3, 1953, she married Glenn Eugene Chambers, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debra A. Whitlatch of Graysville and Kim Harding, wife of Larry Taylor of Greensboro; four sons, Thomas, husband of Shelly Chambers of Hubert, N.C., Robert E. Chambers and Harry, husband of Bobbi J. Chambers, both of Wind Ridge, and Kevin Lee Chambers, at home; 15 grandchildren, Michelle Weight, Teresa Hunt, Nicole Mason, Maggie Shaw, Amanda and Krista Chambers, Daniel Whitlatch, James and Jeremy Patterson, Jason, Ryan and Tommy Chambers, Cody and Austin Barnhart and Chris Whitlach; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie, wife of William Shape of Prosperity, and Daisy Wolf of Beaver Falls; two brothers, Kenneth “Duke,” husband of Inez Hixenbaugh of Claysville, and George Edward, husband of Terri Knight of Beaver Falls.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a son, Charles Richard Chambers, who died as a toddler; and three sisters, Dorothy Jane Crow, Loretta Mae “Bets” Clutter and Joann Louise Frances Long.
Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, and until the time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, with the Rev. Linda Shaw officiating. U.S. Army veteran enjoyed fishing
Samuel R. (Sam) (Sonny) Kerr Jr., 61, of Trees Mills, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009.
He was born May 13, 1948, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Samuel R. and Eva Jean Kuhn Kerr.
Mr. Kerr recently retired from Dominion Transmission, formerly CNG, in Delmont.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Kerr was a member and past commander of Slickville American Legion Post 18 and a member of Delmont Volunteer Fire Department, Slickville Sportsman Club and New Alexandria Fireman’s Club.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Kerr will be greatly missed by his loving family. He will be especially missed by his canine companion, Buddy, his boxer.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 41 years, Mildred “Dolly” Pekich Kerr; daughters Stacey Smith and husband Doug of Export and Michelle Christner and husband Jerry of Jeannette; and a special cousin, Chuck Craig.
He was the proud grandfather of Minna and Cody and proud great-grandfather of Dominick, who was his “little buddy.”

Army vet, longtime insurance investigator enjoyed travel
William H. (Jack) Mounts, 75, of South Franklin Township, died Friday November 6, 2009, in his home. He had been ill since February.
He was born November 23, 1933, in Washington, a son of the late William Howard (Jack) and Mary Craft Mounts.
Mr. Mounts graduated from Trinity High School, where he had been a drum major and class president.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an insurance investigator for Donegal Insurance for 15 years and for National Grange for 20 years.
Mr. Mounts was a member of Claysville Christian Church and enjoyed traveling throughout America.
On November 23, 1958, he married Elna Huston, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lori (Randy) Polan of West Alexander and Debbie (Ronald E.) Gardner of Claysville; a brother, Robert Eugene (Joan) Mounts of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren, Joshua (Ginger) Polan, Jeremy Polan and Brandon Gardner.

Dupont retiree, NRA member enjoyed the outdoors
Todd M. Puck, 74, of Claysville (East Finley Township), died unexpectedly Thursday, November 5, 2009, in his home.
He was born February 24, 1935, in Mahanoy City, a son of Michael and Mary Glodek Puck.
Mr. Puck was Roman Catholic.
He was a 1952 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University.
He was employed as a sales representative for Dupont Paint and Refinishing for 34 years, until his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Puck was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling and photography. He also enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his grandchildren.
On March 7, 1963, he married Natalie Jacobsen, who died September 30, 2002.
Surviving are a son, Robert T. Puck of Allentown; a daughter, Elisabeth A. Puck of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Lawrence Puck of Allentown, N.J.; two sisters, Patricia Squierdo of Pottsville and Pamela Wand of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Ashley Florida, Michael Wick, and Fernando and Gabriella Rivera; and seven nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Rosalie Gorman of Mahanoy City.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Michael H. Heinrich Funeral Home, 219 Main Street, Claysville, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, with Father William P. Feeney of Immaculate Conception Parish officiating. Chelsea Earle Pyle
Texas woman enjoyed family and friends
Chelsea Earle Pyle, 27, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas.
She attended Southlake Carroll High School, where she was a member of Emerald Belles Drill Team, and graduated from Grapevine High School. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where she minored in dance. She graduated with honors from University of North Texas with a degree in public relations/journalism. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Mrs. Pyle was proposed to by her husband, David Pyle, over the telephone, while he served in Baghdad, Iraq. They were married June 10, 2007, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
She enjoyed being a camp counselor. She loved children, her family and friends. She enjoyed scrapbooking and all facets of dance. She also loved animals and cherished her two dachshunds, Hallie Bebe and Sadie.
Mrs. Pyle had a serving heart. She never met a stranger and was always there for a friend in need.
Surviving are her husband, David Pyle; parents Terry and Belinda Earle; brothers Shea Earle and Chase Earle; maternal grandparents Billy and Jackie Rice; aunts and uncles Pam Bender and husband Tom, Catherine Martin, Mike Earle and wife Linda, Brian Earle and wife Donna, Tony Earle and wife Lettie, Chris Earle and wife Sherri and Ron Rice; and a brother-in-law, Mark Pyle and wife Jennifer.
She also leaves extended family and a host of friends.
Deceased are her grandparents, Solon and Jane Earle; and great-grandmothers Jessie Cole and May Rice.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in J. E. Foust Funeral Home, 523 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas (817-481-2525). July 3, 1935 – Oct. 15, 2009
Robert A. Ringheisen, 74, died Thursday, October 15, 2009, in Florida.
He and his late wife, Peggy, spent many years traveling and volunteering in the state park system all over the United States. During this time, they made many friends that they traveled with and stayed close to.
Surviving are daughters Shirley and Gale; daughter-in-law Arlene; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Howard, Donald, William, Barbara, Kathy, Betty and Ruth.
Deceased are his wife of 57 years, Peggy; a son, Donald; and a brother, Bernie.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 14, in Washington Cemetery. Donations may be made to one’s local hospice or to American Cancer Society.

Church member, retired owner of Rusmisel Auto Repair
Henry B. Rusmisel Jr., 86, formerly of West Alexander, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington, after being in failing health for the past several months.
He was born February 14, 1923, in Claysville, a son of the late Henry Berlin and Lelia Swearingen Rusmisel, and resided in the West Alexander area since 1942.
Mr. Rusmisel was a former member of Claysville United Methodist Church and, at the time of his death, was a member of West Alexander United Presbyterian Church, where he had served on the church session.
He was an employee of the former Brockway Glass Plant in Washington for 17 years, and a former employee of D.D. Mullett Coal Co. in Burgettstown and Vang Construction Co., prior to owning and operating Rusmisel Sunoco in West Alexander from 1969 until 1980, when he opened Rusmisel Auto Repair Garage. He retired in 2007.
Mr. Rusmisel served two terms as a Donegal Township supervisor.
On June 8, 1942, he married Frances Harriett Clemens, who died April 5, 1986.
Surviving are a son, William H., husband of Barbara Rusmisel of Claysville; two daughters, Kay, wife of Clyde Cummins of Hueytown, Ala., and Donna, wife of William Weisgerber of Dallas, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Rod and Jeff McConn, Scott and Kevin Rusmisel and Bryon Cummins; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are two granddaughters, who died in infancy; and five sisters, Bertha Anderson, Evangeline Frye, Frances Kerns, Dorothy (Dean) Dunkle and Jane Armstrong.
Graveside services were held Friday, November 6, in West Alexander Cemetery, Donegal Township, with the Rev. Keith Hornung officiating. Marvin A. “Butch” Sicchitano, 70, of Bentleyville, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, in his home.
He was born October 9, 1939, in Bentleyville, a son of the late Bruno A. and Eleanor H. Switz Sicchitano.
Mr. Sicchitano was a 1958 graduate of Bentleyville High School.
His entire working career was with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Mr. Sicchitano was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville, and was a life member of Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed most in life being with his family and tending to his flower garden.
A devoted Pittsburgh Penguins fan, he and his wife were original season ticket holders.
On May 29, 1965, in St. Luke Church, Bentleyville, he married Mary Jane Begansky, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and Matt McCracken of Washington and Brenda and Dalibor Psotka of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Kaitlin, Patrick, Austin, Marissa and Noah McCracken and Alexa Psotka; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene B. and Anita Sicchitano of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Kenneth Lee Sicchitano.

Stella Bice Yanak, 97, of Carmichaels, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
She was born June 24, 1912, in Novakovec, Croatia, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Jankovich Bice.
A resident of Carmichaels for the past 41 years, having previously resided in Waynesburg, Mrs. Yanak was a member of St. Hugh’s Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and watching cooking shows.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jean Rinehart of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Charlene Yanak of Brownsville and Nellie Yanak of Waynesburg; a sister, Dorothy Bice Halgus of Belle Vernon; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind a dear friend, Wilma “Cyd” Philips.
Deceased are her husband, Michael Yanak Sr.; two sons, Robert and Michael Yanak Jr.; three sisters, Ruth McGinsky, Mary Mrkobrad and Milka Magic; and a brother, Dragec Bice.

Puck of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Lawrence Puck of Allentown, N.J.; two sisters, Patricia Squierdo of Pottsville and Pamela Wand of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Ashley Florida, Michael Wick, and Fernando and Gabriella Rivera; and seven nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Rosalie Gorman of Mahanoy City.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Michael H. Heinrich Funeral Home, 219 Main Street, Claysville, where a blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, with Father William P. Feeney of Immaculate Conception Parish officiating. Interment will follow in West Finley Cemetery.

Chelsea Earle Pyle
Texas woman enjoyed family and friends
Chelsea Earle Pyle, 27, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas.
She attended Southlake Carroll High School, where she was a member of Emerald Belles Drill Team, and graduated from Grapevine High School. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where she minored in dance. She graduated with honors from University of North Texas with a degree in public relations/journalism. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Mrs. Pyle was proposed to by her husband, David Pyle, over the telephone, while he served in Baghdad, Iraq. They were married June 10, 2007, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
She enjoyed being a camp counselor. She loved children, her family and friends. She enjoyed scrapbooking and all facets of dance. She also loved animals and cherished her two dachshunds, Hallie Bebe and Sadie.
Mrs. Pyle had a serving heart. She never met a stranger and was always there for a friend in need.
Surviving are her husband, David Pyle; parents Terry and Belinda Earle; brothers Shea Earle and Chase Earle; maternal grandparents Billy and Jackie Rice; aunts and uncles Pam Bender and husband Tom, Catherine Martin, Mike Earle and wife Linda, Brian Earle and wife Donna, Tony Earle and wife Lettie, Chris Earle and wife Sherri and Ron Rice; and a brother-in-law, Mark Pyle and wife Jennifer.
She also leaves extended family and a host of friends.
Deceased are her grandparents, Solon and Jane Earle; and great-grandmothers Jessie Cole and May Rice.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in J. E. Foust Funeral Home, 523 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas (817-481-2525). Robert A. Ringheisen, 74, died Thursday, October 15, 2009, in Florida.
He and his late wife, Peggy, spent many years traveling and volunteering in the state park system all over the United States. During this time, they made many friends that they traveled with and stayed close to.
Surviving are daughters Shirley and Gale; daughter-in-law Arlene; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Howard, Donald, William, Barbara, Kathy, Betty and Ruth.
Deceased are his wife of 57 years, Peggy; a son, Donald; and a brother, Bernie.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 14, in Washington Cemetery. Donations may be made to one’s local hospice or to American Cancer Society.

Henry B. Rusmisel Jr.
Church member, retired owner of Rusmisel Auto Repair
Henry B. Rusmisel Jr., 86, formerly of West Alexander, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington, after being in failing health for the past several months.
He was born February 14, 1923, in Claysville, a son of the late Henry Berlin and Lelia Swearingen Rusmisel, and resided in the West Alexander area since 1942.
Mr. Rusmisel was a former member of Claysville United Methodist Church and, at the time of his death, was a member of West Alexander United Presbyterian Church, where he had served on the church session.
He was an employee of the former Brockway Glass Plant in Washington for 17 years, and a former employee of D.D. Mullett Coal Co. in Burgettstown and Vang Construction Co., prior to owning and operating Rusmisel Sunoco in West Alexander from 1969 until 1980, when he opened Rusmisel Auto Repair Garage. He retired in 2007.
Mr. Rusmisel served two terms as a Donegal Township supervisor.
On June 8, 1942, he married Frances Harriett Clemens, who died April 5, 1986.
Surviving are a son, William H., husband of Barbara Rusmisel of Claysville; two daughters, Kay, wife of Clyde Cummins of Hueytown, Ala., and Donna, wife of William Weisgerber of Dallas, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Rod and Jeff McConn, Scott and Kevin Rusmisel and Bryon Cummins; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are two granddaughters, who died in infancy; and five sisters, Bertha Anderson, Evangeline Frye, Frances Kerns, Dorothy (Dean) Dunkle and Jane Armstrong.
Graveside services were held Friday, November 6, in West Alexander Cemetery, Donegal Township, with the Rev. Keith Hornung officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to West Alexander United Presbyterian Church, 108 Main Street, West Alexander, PA 15376; or Albert Gallatin Hospice, 275 Meadowlands Boulevard, Washington, PA 15301. Marvin A. Sicchitano
PennDOT retiree was member of Bentleyville VFD
Marvin A. “Butch” Sicchitano, 70, of Bentleyville, died Thursday, November 5, 2009, in his home.
He was born October 9, 1939, in Bentleyville, a son of the late Bruno A. and Eleanor H. Switz Sicchitano.
Mr. Sicchitano was a 1958 graduate of Bentleyville High School.
His entire working career was with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Mr. Sicchitano was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville, and was a life member of Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed most in life being with his family and tending to his flower garden.
A devoted Pittsburgh Penguins fan, he and his wife were original season ticket holders.
On May 29, 1965, in St. Luke Church, Bentleyville, he married Mary Jane Begansky, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and Matt McCracken of Washington and Brenda and Dalibor Psotka of Lexington, Ky.; six grandchildren, Kaitlin, Patrick, Austin, Marissa and Noah McCracken and Alexa Psotka; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene B. and Anita Sicchitano of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Kenneth Lee Sicchitano.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to a memorial Mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 14, in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Gary W. Krummert as celebrant. Stella Bice Yanak, 97, of Carmichaels, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
She was born June 24, 1912, in Novakovec, Croatia, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Jankovich Bice.
A resident of Carmichaels for the past 41 years, having previously resided in Waynesburg, Mrs. Yanak was a member of St. Hugh’s Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and watching cooking shows.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jean Rinehart of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Charlene Yanak of Brownsville and Nellie Yanak of Waynesburg; a sister, Dorothy Bice Halgus of Belle Vernon; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind a dear friend, Wilma “Cyd” Philips.
Deceased are her husband, Michael Yanak Sr.; two sons, Robert and Michael Yanak Jr.; three sisters, Ruth McGinsky, Mary Mrkobrad and Milka Magic; and a brother, Dragec Bice.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Leonard J.
