Joseph S. Chimento, 85, of Williamsville, N.Y., died Thursday, May 28, 2009.
He was the beloved husband of Connie DeBellis Chimento; dearest father of Marilyn Chimento, Susan (Thomas) Bieber and Joseph M. (Patricia) Chimento; loving grandfather of Thomas (Tania) Diina, David (Danielle) Diina, Jonathan Diina, Joseph Chimento and Vincent Chimento; great-grandfather of Kathryn, Elizabeth and Alexandra Diina; brother of Santo (Norma) Chimento and Anne (late Samuel) Portale; and brother-in-law of Michael (Shirley) DeBellis. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Tonawanda Chapel of Amigone Funeral Home Inc., 2600 Sheridan Drive (at Parker Boulevard), Tonawanda, N.Y., where services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 1.

1921–2009
Pansy Diaz, 87, a lifelong resident of Langeloth, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 28, 2009, in her home.
She was born October 8, 1921, in Langeloth, a daughter of David A. Sr. and Carmina Menendez Diaz.
Prior to her retirement, she was a bookkeeper for Gimbels Department Store, Pittsburgh. After her retirement from Gimbels, she cared for her parents and other family members.
Surviving are a sister-in-law and dear friend, Josephine (Fina) Diaz of Langeloth; her nephews, Eugene Borio and wife Linda of West View, Ronald Diaz and wife Gerri of Hickory and Rick Diaz of Langeloth, and nieces Carmen Pinto and husband Jack of Imperial and Denise Jacobs and husband Robin of North Ridgeville, Ohio.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, Joe Diaz and David A. Diaz Jr., and two sisters, Anita Dubich and Louisa Borio.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, with the Rev. Army vet was retired mechanic, enjoyed farming
John T. (Jack) Gaskill, 77, of Waynesburg, died at 4:50 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, in his home.
He was born Wednesday, July 8, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a son of Eugene and Catherine Cregan Gaskill.
Mr. Gaskill was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Waynesburg.
He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. He also belonged to the machinist union.
Mr. Gaskill enjoyed farming and animals. He especially enjoyed feeding and watching birds.
He worked for 25 years as a mechanic for United Airlines, retiring in 1981.
On Saturday, August 29, 1981, he married Patsy Huff, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jaclin Gaskill of Naples, Fla., and Linda and husband Charles Bainbridge of Crucible; four sons, Robert Gaskill of Brownsville, Edward and wife Dale Gaskill of Waynesburg, Timothy and wife Terri Gaskill of Brookline and James and wife Joni Gaskill of Waynesburg; two stepdaughters, Ellen and husband William Wolfe of Aleppo and Amy Clayton of Waynesburg; two stepsons, George and wife Georgina Clayton of Waynesburg and Clyde Clayton of Jefferson; 31 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Deloris Kramer of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a grandson, Jack Foster; a sister, Rose Mary Smith; and three brothers, William Gaskill, Eugene Robert Gaskill and James Edward Gaskill.

Member of New Freeport Baptist Church
Freda Mae Gregg, 73, of New Freeport, died at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, after being ill since suffering a heart attack on March 9.
She was born April 17, 1936, in Springhill Township (Deep Valley), a daughter of Jacob Doyle and Ruth Lorena Fonner Gregg.
Miss Gregg had been a resident of Springhill Township and the New Freeport area all her life, where she was a member of New Freeport Baptist Church.
She was a 1956 graduate of Waynesburg High School.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is her sister, Donna Jane Gregg, who died November 10, 1994.
Miss Gregg was the last of her immediate family.

Clarence I. Johnson Jr.
Veteran was Agway retiree, longtime church member
Clarence I. Johnson Jr., 79, of Waynesburg (Greene Township), died unexpectedly Saturday, May 30, 2009, in his home.
He was born October 24, 1929, in Lavansville, Somerset County, a son of Clarence Ira Sr. and Edith Hemminger Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Somerset High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces during the Korean conflict and resided in Greene County for the past 47 years.
Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Garards Fort and retired from Agway in 1990 after 32 years working as store manager in Waynesburg. He then worked as an agri-business consultant to farmers in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Warrior Trail Association and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working his family farm.
On June 11, 1955, he married Lois Headlee, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Keith A. Johnson and wife Melinda of Winchester, Va., and Dale B. Johnson of Narvon; three daughters, Kathy Lynn Johnson and husband Robert Masson of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Donna Rae Johnson Short and husband Tim of Boiling Springs and Susan J. Anderson and husband Ken of Franktown, Colo.; four grandchildren, Audra Yebernetsky, Ryan Coder, Lauren Coder and Eric Anderson; two brothers, Thomas Johnson and wife Shirley of Kirtland, Ohio, and Glenn Johnson and wife Jayne of Bellvue, Colo.; seven sisters, Jean Swindell of North Olmsted, Ohio, Dorothy Barlow of Oberlin, Ohio, Carley Suter and husband Jim of Somerset, Rena Tipton of Mantua, Ohio, Ruth Barron and husband Tom of Somerset, Kay Neri and husband Rich of Boswell and Linda Griffith and husband Dale of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Fred Johnson and Daniel Johnson.

Katherine Christina Keenist, 65, of Monongahela, died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1943, in Gastonville, a daughter of the late Robert and Anna Belle Wallace Hamilton.
Mrs. Keenist was a homemaker and was Methodist.
Surviving are a son, Kerry Burton of Monongahela; two daughters, Theresa Chipps of New Eagle and Sherry Keenist of Donora; a brother, Ronald Hamilton of New Orleans, La.; four sisters, Helen Cushey of Venetia, Nancy Forsythe of Monongahela, Mary Ann Smeder of Bethel Park and Margaret Stanko of Monongahela; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert and Thomas Hamilton; and a sister, Eleanor Hamilton.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, in Finleyville.

Walter Lee King Jr.
WWII veteran was Christian minister
Walter Lee King Jr., 85, of Canonsburg, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
He was born October 12, 1923, in Dunbar, W.Va., a son of Walter Lee and Ina Stone King.
He received his bachelor’s of chemistry and religious studies from Morris Harvey College and Seminary.
Serving as a Marine in Okinawa during World War II, he was a six stripe gunnery sargeant.
He worked as a chemist for Duquesne Light Co. prior to his calling to the ministry.
The Rev. King, he founded an independent Christian church organization, The Voice of the Nazarene, and authored a paper by the same name. He also authored an online religious newsletter called Monday Morning Holiness Report.
At the age of 50, he earned his private pilot license and used it to pilot medical supplies and clothing deliveries as a missionary to impoverished areas including Haiti, Mexico and the Amazon River area of Brazil.
He also enjoyed his hobby of antiquing.
On June 16, 1946, he married his beautiful wife, Belisa Mirrel McClung, who preceded him in death January 9, 2007.
His passing will represent a great loss to the church community.
He will be sadly missed by his seven children, Judy Rossignol (Charlie) of Islamorada, Fla., Karen Huhn (Gary) of Houston, Lynn Henning (Kirk) of Walkersville, Md., Ina Jolis (Marc) of Atlanta, Ga., David King (Laura) of Islamorada, Denise Jackson (Curtis) of Westlake Village, Calif., and Daniel King (Crystal) of Alum Bank; his three grandchildren, Tim Reed (Cristie), Leanne Molinaro (Guy) and Montana Veenhuis; and his brother, Franklin King of Aiken, S.C.
In addition to his wife, deceased are two brothers, William and Ray King.

Steve A. Pucel
WWII vet, Duquesne Works retiree, Beagle Club member
Steve A. (Jake) Pucel, 88, of New Eagle, died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born August 23, 1920, in Donora, a son of Anton Pucel and Victoria Pavelko Pucel-Koscelek.
Throughout his life, Mr. Pucel had worked at various steel mills, retiring from Duquesne Works.
He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during World War II and parachuted onto Normandy Beach, where he was wounded during the D-Day invasion.
Mr. Pucel was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Monongahela.
He enjoyed training beagles and was a past member of the New Eagle Beagle Club. In 1959, he won and was the International Beagle Derby Champ.
Mr. Pucel was a member of Carroll Township American Legion Post 949 and a life member of East Monongahela Sportsman’s Club.
He loved to go to his camp and loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed listening and following Frankie Kalik’s “Polka Fun Club” and following his granchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen A. Jr. and Louise Pucel of New Eagle; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and William Paulick Jr. of New Eagle; two sisters, Agnes Boyer and Irene Pandrock, both of Donora; five grandchildren, Danette and husband Cris Vaccaro, Carlyn and husband Patrick Dagenhard, Owen and wife Christne Pucel, Michael Paulick and Gabriel and wife Angela Paulick; and eight great-grandchildren, Kelsey Simmons, Bryce Dagenhard, Adam and Jason Vaccaro, Lauren and Lola Paulick and Julian and Oliver Pucel.
Deceased are his wife, Jennie Sala Pucel, who died November 6, 2008; six brothers, Frank and Paul Pucel and Joseph, Paul, William and Steve Koscelek; and six sisters, Mary Svercek, Florence Greco, Irene Pucel, Anne Koscelek, Margaret Kalocy and Anna Nola.

Marine Corps vet worked for Mount Moriah School
Clayton E. Robinson Sr., 72, of Dilliner, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born October 17, 1936, in Dilliner, a son of Drexel and Marguerite Morley Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a graduate of Mapletown High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. At the time of his death, he was the custodian for Mount Moriah Christian School in Smithfield.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Stottlemire Robinson; four sons, Marc of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Eric of Martinsburg, W.Va., Kirk of Hagerstown, Md., and Clayton Jr. of Dilliner; four stepchildren, Tim Riggi of San Antonio, Texas, and Kim Farrah, and George and Willie Bowman, all of Fairmont, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Cornelius Robinson of Dilliner and Ralph Robinson of Arthurdale, W.Va.; and a sister, Juanee Ansel of Gladesville, W.Va.

Member of Arden Club, Eagles enjoyed bingo
Norma J. Thompson, 69, of Washington, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1939, in Tyme (Greene County), a daughter of Clarence Sr. and Dorcas Hillberry Doman Toland.
Mrs. Thompson was employed in the housekeeping departments at Holiday Inn, Meadow Lands, and Humbert Lane, South Strabane Township, for a total of 10 years.
She was a member of Arden Club and the Eagles. She enjoyed bingo and going to Wheeling Island, W.Va.
Surviving are two sons, Earl William (Bill) Toland of Washington and Russell Howard Dougherty of Bentleyville; two daughters, Patricia Ann (Ron) Strope of Moundsville, W.Va., and Norma Lynn (Mark) Milligan of Bentleyville; a brother, Clarence “Sonny” Toland Jr. and wife Dorothy of Cameron, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Marin-Cody Vettori of Massachusetts, Trevor Dougherty of Cameron, Brian Malik Jr. and Courtney, Tori, Joshua and Christopher Milligan, all of Bentleyville; and a great-grandchild, Landyn Roberts.
She also leaves her caregiver, Joyce Scott of Washington.
Deceased are a stepfather, Carl Doman; two sisters, Elsie Huntsman and Shirley Riggle; a son, Charles (Chuckie) Dougherty; and a grandson, Dustin Dougherty.

Margaret Ann Williams, 60, of Scenery Hill, formerly of Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in her home.
She was born February 13, 1949, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late James Samuel and Edna Mae Coleman Orr.
Mrs. Williams graduated high school from Sto-Rox and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting.
She was an accountant for many years. She loved working with crafts, needlepoint, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (Chris) Walker of Dawsonville, Ga., and Laura (Brent) Constant of Cumming, Ga.; two brothers, James Robert (Debbie) Orr of McKees Rocks and Brian Orr of Bellevue; a sister, Patricia (Allen) Arnold of Amity; two grandchildren, Erika Constant and Kyle Constant; and several nieces and nephews.

Miss Gregg had been a resident of Springhill Township and the New Freeport area all her life, where she was a member of New Freeport Baptist Church.
She was a 1956 graduate of Waynesburg High School.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is her sister, Donna Jane Gregg, who died November 10, 1994.
Miss Gregg was the last of her immediate family.

Clarence I. Johnson Jr.
Veteran was Agway retiree, longtime church member
Clarence I. Johnson Jr., 79, of Waynesburg (Greene Township), died unexpectedly Saturday, May 30, 2009, in his home.
He was born October 24, 1929, in Lavansville, Somerset County, a son of Clarence Ira Sr. and Edith Hemminger Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Somerset High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces during the Korean conflict and resided in Greene County for the past 47 years.
Mr. Johnson was a longtime member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Garards Fort and retired from Agway in 1990 after 32 years working as store manager in Waynesburg. He then worked as an agri-business consultant to farmers in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Warrior Trail Association and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working his family farm.
On June 11, 1955, he married Lois Headlee, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Keith A. Johnson and wife Melinda of Winchester, Va., and Dale B. Johnson of Narvon; three daughters, Kathy Lynn Johnson and husband Robert Masson of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Donna Rae Johnson Short and husband Tim of Boiling Springs and Susan J. Anderson and husband Ken of Franktown, Colo.; four grandchildren, Audra Yebernetsky, Ryan Coder, Lauren Coder and Eric Anderson; two brothers, Thomas Johnson and wife Shirley of Kirtland, Ohio, and Glenn Johnson and wife Jayne of Bellvue, Colo.; seven sisters, Jean Swindell of North Olmsted, Ohio, Dorothy Barlow of Oberlin, Ohio, Carley Suter and husband Jim of Somerset, Rena Tipton of Mantua, Ohio, Ruth Barron and husband Tom of Somerset, Kay Neri and husband Rich of Boswell and Linda Griffith and husband Dale of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Fred Johnson and Daniel Johnson.

Katherine Christina Keenist, 65, of Monongahela, died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1943, in Gastonville, a daughter of the late Robert and Anna Belle Wallace Hamilton.
Mrs. Keenist was a homemaker and was Methodist.
Surviving are a son, Kerry Burton of Monongahela; two daughters, Theresa Chipps of New Eagle and Sherry Keenist of Donora; a brother, Ronald Hamilton of New Orleans, La.; four sisters, Helen Cushey of Venetia, Nancy Forsythe of Monongahela, Mary Ann Smeder of Bethel Park and Margaret Stanko of Monongahela; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert and Thomas Hamilton; and a sister, Eleanor Hamilton.

Walter Lee King Jr.
WWII veteran was Christian minister
Walter Lee King Jr., 85, of Canonsburg, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
He was born October 12, 1923, in Dunbar, W.Va., a son of Walter Lee and Ina Stone King.
He received his bachelor’s of chemistry and religious studies from Morris Harvey College and Seminary.
Serving as a Marine in Okinawa during World War II, he was a six stripe gunnery sargeant.
He worked as a chemist for Duquesne Light Co. prior to his calling to the ministry.
The Rev. King, he founded an independent Christian church organization, The Voice of the Nazarene, and authored a paper by the same name. He also authored an online religious newsletter called Monday Morning Holiness Report.
At the age of 50, he earned his private pilot license and used it to pilot medical supplies and clothing deliveries as a missionary to impoverished areas including Haiti, Mexico and the Amazon River area of Brazil.
He also enjoyed his hobby of antiquing.
On June 16, 1946, he married his beautiful wife, Belisa Mirrel McClung, who preceded him in death January 9, 2007.
His passing will represent a great loss to the church community.
He will be sadly missed by his seven children, Judy Rossignol (Charlie) of Islamorada, Fla., Karen Huhn (Gary) of Houston, Lynn Henning (Kirk) of Walkersville, Md., Ina Jolis (Marc) of Atlanta, Ga., David King (Laura) of Islamorada, Denise Jackson (Curtis) of Westlake Village, Calif., and Daniel King (Crystal) of Alum Bank; his three grandchildren, Tim Reed (Cristie), Leanne Molinaro (Guy) and Montana Veenhuis; and his brother, Franklin King of Aiken, S.C.
In addition to his wife, deceased are two brothers, William and Ray King.

Steve A. Pucel
WWII vet, Duquesne Works retiree, Beagle Club member
Steve A. (Jake) Pucel, 88, of New Eagle, died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born August 23, 1920, in Donora, a son of Anton Pucel and Victoria Pavelko Pucel-Koscelek.
Throughout his life, Mr. Pucel had worked at various steel mills, retiring from Duquesne Works.
He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during World War II and parachuted onto Normandy Beach, where he was wounded during the D-Day invasion.
Mr. Pucel was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Monongahela.
He enjoyed training beagles and was a past member of the New Eagle Beagle Club. In 1959, he won and was the International Beagle Derby Champ.
Mr. Pucel was a member of Carroll Township American Legion Post 949 and a life member of East Monongahela Sportsman’s Club.
He loved to go to his camp and loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed listening and following Frankie Kalik’s “Polka Fun Club” and following his granchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen A. Jr. and Louise Pucel of New Eagle; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and William Paulick Jr. of New Eagle; two sisters, Agnes Boyer and Irene Pandrock, both of Donora; five grandchildren, Danette and husband Cris Vaccaro, Carlyn and husband Patrick Dagenhard, Owen and wife Christne Pucel, Michael Paulick and Gabriel and wife Angela Paulick; and eight great-grandchildren, Kelsey Simmons, Bryce Dagenhard, Adam and Jason Vaccaro, Lauren and Lola Paulick and Julian and Oliver Pucel.
Deceased are his wife, Jennie Sala Pucel, who died November 6, 2008; six brothers, Frank and Paul Pucel and Joseph, Paul, William and Steve Koscelek; and six sisters, Mary Svercek, Florence Greco, Irene Pucel, Anne Koscelek, Margaret Kalocy and Anna Nola.

Clayton E. Robinson Sr., 72, of Dilliner, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born October 17, 1936, in Dilliner, a son of Drexel and Marguerite Morley Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a graduate of Mapletown High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. At the time of his death, he was the custodian for Mount Moriah Christian School in Smithfield.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Stottlemire Robinson; four sons, Marc of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Eric of Martinsburg, W.Va., Kirk of Hagerstown, Md., and Clayton Jr. of Dilliner; four stepchildren, Tim Riggi of San Antonio, Texas, and Kim Farrah, and George and Willie Bowman, all of Fairmont, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Cornelius Robinson of Dilliner and Ralph Robinson of Arthurdale, W.Va.; and a sister, Juanee Ansel of Gladesville, W.Va.

Norma J. Thompson, 69, of Washington, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1939, in Tyme (Greene County), a daughter of Clarence Sr. and Dorcas Hillberry Doman Toland.
Mrs. Thompson was employed in the housekeeping departments at Holiday Inn, Meadow Lands, and Humbert Lane, South Strabane Township, for a total of 10 years.
She was a member of Arden Club and the Eagles. She enjoyed bingo and going to Wheeling Island, W.Va.
Surviving are two sons, Earl William (Bill) Toland of Washington and Russell Howard Dougherty of Bentleyville; two daughters, Patricia Ann (Ron) Strope of Moundsville, W.Va., and Norma Lynn (Mark) Milligan of Bentleyville; a brother, Clarence “Sonny” Toland Jr. and wife Dorothy of Cameron, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Marin-Cody Vettori of Massachusetts, Trevor Dougherty of Cameron, Brian Malik Jr. and Courtney, Tori, Joshua and Christopher Milligan, all of Bentleyville; and a great-grandchild, Landyn Roberts.
She also leaves her caregiver, Joyce Scott of Washington.

Margaret Ann Williams, 60, of Scenery Hill, formerly of Pittsburgh, died unexpectedly at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in her home.
She was born February 13, 1949, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late James Samuel and Edna Mae Coleman Orr.
Mrs. Williams graduated high school from Sto-Rox and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting.
She was an accountant for many years. She loved working with crafts, needlepoint, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (Chris) Walker of Dawsonville, Ga., and Laura (Brent) Constant of Cumming, Ga.; two brothers, James Robert (Debbie) Orr of McKees Rocks and Brian Orr of Bellevue; a sister, Patricia (Allen) Arnold of Amity; two grandchildren, Erika Constant and Kyle Constant; and several nieces and nephews.
