Shirley A. Baker
Shirley A. Baker, 74, of Jefferson, died Monday, November 24, 2008, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born October 20, 1934, in Jefferson, a daughter of James L. and Pearle Lauderback Steinmiller.
Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Jefferson High School and Robert Morris School of Business.
On March 3, 1956, she married Ervin Baker, who died September 14, 2008.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Baker also owned and operated Shirley’s Variety in Waynesburg for seven years. For many years, she and her husband enjoyed flea markets.
She was a member of Jefferson Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Baker also was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Jefferson and an honorary member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Melodie (Tom) Hodnik of Dunbar and Michele (Joe) Baker of Jefferson; four grandsons, Matthew (Kelly) Maple and Jesse, James and Jeremy Baker; three great-grandchildren, Brian, Sarah and Julia; a sister, Carol (James) Ritchey of Aliquippa; and a sister-in-law, Joan Steinmiller of Jefferson.
Deceased is a brother, Ronald L. Steinmiller, who died December 26, 1966.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 29, with the Rev. Carl Kibler officiating, followed by interment in Jefferson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy K. Harrison
Homemaker enjoyed bingo and bowling
Dorothy K Harrison, 80, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, in her home.
She was born June 23, 1928, in Fredericktown, a daughter of Frank and Anna Chernisky Barron.
On June 24, 1955, she married Thomas E. Harrison, who died August 3, 1997.
Mrs. Harrison was a homemaker and resided most of her life in Carmichaels.
She worked for several years at Taylor’s Drug Store in Carmichaels.
Mrs. Harrison was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Carmichaels.
She enjoyed bingo and bowling.
Surviving are a brother, John (Mary) Barron of Carmichaels; two nieces, Karen Hornick and Michelle McCollum; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Helen Pryor; a brother, George Barron, who was killed in World War II; and two nieces, Sandra Santinti and Deborah Grimm.
Private services were held at Behm Funeral Homes Inc., Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, with interment in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.

Dennis Paul Muhr
Owner of Star Computer Systems
Dennis Paul Muhr, 63, of Cameron, W.Va., died Tuesday, November 25, 2008, in Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born August 21, 1945, in Pittsburgh, a son of Raymond W. and Harriett E. Custer Muhr.
Mr. Muhr was the owner of Star Computer Systems in Washington. He formerly had worked as a project manager at Murphy Construction and as a welder and metal fabricator.
His hobbies were motorcycles, woodworking, metalworking and computers.
Mr. Muhr was a member of American Legion Post 18, Cameron, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7505.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from September 25, 1962, until June 29, 1966, when he was discharged with a rank of airman, second class. His awards included the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Outstanding Unit Award.
On July 12, 1982, he married Dianne Mary Shoemaker, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael P. (Lori A.) Muhr of Avella; two daughters, Kimberly Stanley and Bobbie Lee (Jeffrey) Gorrell, both of West Virginia; a sister, Carol Muhr (Robert C.) Boring; four grandchildren, Cassandra Lynn Muhr, Skyler Stanley, Jessie Aishman and Matthew Hand; a great-grandchild, Aiden Aishman; and two nephews, Shannon R. Boring and Brandon M. Boring.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Additional information and guest book are online at www.NealFuneralHome.com.

Charles L. Phillips, 94, of Waynesburg, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, November 27, 2008, in Respicenter West, Waynesburg.

Josephine Miller Siegel
Member of Beth Israel Synagogue
Josephine Miller Siegel, 101, of Washington, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, in her home.
She was born January 30, 1907, in New Britain, Conn., a daughter of Bernard and Billie Kallman Miller.
Mrs. Siegel was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue.
She was a graduate of New Britain High School and Beaver College in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Siegel was a member of Washington Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and the Herb Society for many years.
On December 23, 1930, in New Britain, she married Alan Boyd Siegel, who died November 26, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Mark S. (Palma) Siegel of Townville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Douglas W. Siegel and Lael Poole; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Brenda Siegel Lehmann, and two sisters, Lillian Lash and Evelyn Toboco.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m., the hour of services, Friday, November 28, in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Rabbi David Novitsky officiating.
