William George Dicks
The Rev. William George Dicks, 73, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008, in Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born May 26, 1935, in Washington, a son of Clarence Herbert and Helen Marie King Dicks.
The Rev. Dicks was a minister in First Baptist Church of Carmichaels for five years and Grace Baptist Church in Grindstone for five years.
He worked in Washington Steel as a millwright for 28 years. He was also a Pennsylvania state constable.
The Rev. Dicks was a member of Southern Baptist Convention, as a church planner, and a member of North Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling in his recreational vehicle, singing and going out to dinner.
On July 16, 1962, he married Judith Ann Bedillion, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William George (Charlynne) Dicks II of Brownsville; a daughter, Lori Ann (Don Head) Davis of Leland, Ill.; a brother, Francis (Jean) Dicks; five sisters, Helen Jean Kelley, Clara (Cecil) Anderson, Alberta Lunn and Mary Kania, all of Washington, and Margaret (Peg) (Robert) McVehil of Beaver Falls; and two grandchildren, Paul William and David Lee Head.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Michele; a brother, Clarence “Bud” Dicks; and two brothers, Herbert and Lewis, and a sister, Jane, all of whom died in childhood.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Angelo Furia
Owner, operator of Furia Sanitation
Angelo (Geno) Furia, 83, of Greensboro, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, in his home, with his wife of 65 years and his family at his bedside.
He was born September 16, 1925, in Monongahela, a son of Italian immigrants.
Mr. Furia was a veteran of World War II.
He was the proud owner and operator of Furia Sanitation, now F & D Sanitation, which he founded in 1950.
In December 1943, he married Betty Phillips Furia, who survives, and settled in Greensboro.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Bradley Furia of Long Island, N.Y.; a daughter, Janice Furia Dankovich of Greensboro; two granddaughters, Dr. Megan Dankovich Argentiere and husband Dominic of Washington, D.C., and Kristen Furia of Hazelton, W.Va.; a great-grandson, Bradley Geno Riggle, also of Hazelton; and a stepbrother, Joseph Augustine of Warren, Ohio.
Deceased are a grandson, Geoffrey Dankovich, formerly of Greensboro, and a sister, Clara Lamb, formerly of Galveston, Texas.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services. A private service for the immediate family will be held in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, followed by cremation. His remains will be scattered, as were his grandson’s, in the mountains they both loved. Those wishing to express condolences may do so with a memorial donation to Albert Gallatin Hospice or Greene County Humane Society.

Donna D. Grove
Owner, operator of Vella School of Dance
Donna D. Grove, 66, of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 27, 2008, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born September 7, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Joseph J. D’Amico of Canonsburg and the late Louise Vella D’Amico.
Mrs. Grove was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and received her bachelor of science degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10, where she served two terms as president. She was also a member of Dance Masters of America and Pennsylvania Dance Teachers Association.
Mrs. Grove was owner and operator of Vella Dance Studio in Bridgeville, where she taught for 46 years. She also had studios in Houston and an affiliation with Upper St. Clair and Mt. Lebanon recreational programs. Mrs. Grove made many little girls’ dreams of dancing come true. She carried on the legacy of dance from her mother, Louise Vella, who was the originator of the school 75 years ago.
She has touched the heart and feet of innumerable people over the years. So many have benefited from her talent, generous nature and love for life that she will never be forgotten.
Mrs. Grove was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg.
Surviving are a son, James B. (Laura) Grove of Glen Mills; two granddaughters, Jordan Louise and Julia Elizabeth Grove, with whom she loved spending time; and a goddaughter, Kiki Lucas.
Deceased are a son, William A. Grove; and two aunts, Jane Vella Cicci and Angela Ghelarducci.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Kenneth H. Harvey
WWII Army veteran was Petti Bonne Corp. retiree
Kenneth H. Harvey, 87, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, November 29, 2008, in his home.
He was born April 24, 1921, in Wellsburg, W.Va.
Mr. Harvey attended West Liberty (W.Va.) State College.
He served in World War II in the U.S. Army 2nd infantry.
Mr. Harvey worked for Forbes Steel and retired from Petti Bonne Corp.
Surviving are a son, John (Nancy) Harvey; a daughter, Jane (Mike) Reeves; and her two grandchildren, Travis and Rachel Reeves; and several nephews and a niece.
Deceased is his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Harvey.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Beinhauer Bogan, 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, where a memorial service will be held at a time to be announced Wednesday.

Irene J. Wagoner
Member of Church of the Covenant
Irene J. Wagoner, 86, of Washington, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington, after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 12, 1922, in Monessen, a daughter of George and Mary K. Kotys Fardis.
Mrs. Wagoner was a member of the Church of the Covenant.
She was also a member of social sorority Beta Sigma Phi.
Mrs. Wagoner enjoyed working with her beautiful flowers around her home. Most of all, she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She loved the holidays and, most of all, cooking, baking and enjoying her family being together.
In July 1941, she married Lloyd R. “Wag” Wagoner, who died November 29, 1974.
Surviving are a son, Gary A. Wagoner of Arneys Mount, N.J.; a daughter, Lynn Patterson of Washington; a sister, Adeline Reed of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Kelly (David) Badnell, Alynn Wagoner, Eric Wagoner, Kacey Wagoner and Tyler Wagoner; a great-granddaughter, Natalie L. Badnell; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, George Fardis; and a son-in-law, Howard A. Patterson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Mary Ann Zaby
Mapletown High School cafeteria retiree
Mary Ann Zaby, 70, of Greensboro, died Friday, November 28, 2008, following a brief illness.
She was born April 8, 1938, in Monongahela Township, a daughter of George and Anna Petechell Zaby.
Miss Zaby was a 1958 graduate of Mapletown High School and lived most of her life in the Greensboro (Penn Pitt) area.
She worked in the cafeteria of Mapletown High School, retiring in 2000.
Miss Zaby was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Greensboro.
Surviving are three nieces, Lisa Slok of Painesville, Ohio, Debbie Brettrager and husband Scott of Painesville and Tina McCormick and husband Tim of Bobtown; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Tabitha, Ron, Timmy Sr., Kimmy, Emily, Rob, Timmy Jr., Johnetta and Brandon; a sister-in-law, Marie Zaby of Bobtown; and three aunts, Mary Groflo, Margaret Mirisiciotti and Helen Lipscomb.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, George Zaby, who died in infancy, and John C. Zaby.
