Flipside is a monthly feature written by and for students in Washington and Greene counties. This publication is a creative outlet for local area students to explore a career path within the newspaper industry. From publishing, editing and writing. Each month during the school year, students are given the opportunity to see what it takes to publish a newspaper. Nearly 30 participating area schools within Washington and Greene Counties receive Flipside through the Observer-Reporter’s Newspapers in Education program.

Flipside is published the second Tuesday of each month and reachs nearly 90,000 readers of the Observer-Reporter.

Target Audience

This monthly publication is written by students and targets other local students. This is a great publication to reach out to young adults. Young adults influence much of the flow of income from parents. More money is typically spent on the children than on the adults in the household. This publication also reaches out to the teachers and parents throughout the many school districts within our market.
