1921 – 2012

Nicholas M. Bozic, 90, of Washington, formerly of Cherry Valley, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Washington Hospital.

He was born December 4, 1921, in Bulger, a son of the late Michael and Mary Carol Bozic.

Mr. Bozic was a 1939 graduate of Midway High School.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Mr. Bozic worked for Consol Coal Co. as a foreman at Westland Mine, underground superintendent at Mathies Mine and technical assistant to the vice president at Midwest Region in Ohio.

He was parishioner of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Washington and a member of the Washington Rotary Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6553 in Slovan.

On June 1, 1946, he married Mary Costa, who died January 13, 2002.

Surviving are a son, Dennis Bozic and wife Betsy of McMurray; a daughter, Susan Brown and husband Dennis of Washington; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Stephanie Bozic, Erin Bywaters and husband Donnie and Megan and Courtney Brown; a brother, George and wife Jean; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a brother, Joseph Bozic, and three sisters, Frances Slack, Anne Mihalich and Mary Krzeczowski.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Nick Spirko as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.
