Market robbed: A man got away with an unknown amount of cash Thursday after robbing the Lone Pine Market in Amwell Township.State police in Washington said the man entered the market at 618 Lone Pine Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. and sprayed some type of liquid at the owner, 81-year-old Virginia Hart. He demanded money from Hart and grabbed cash from the cash register. State police said Hart was attempting to pull the register from the counter to thwart the robbery.He then fled from the store in an unknown direction. State police said he is about 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall and was wearing a black-and-white finely checked jacket with a black hood. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
Copper stolen: William Jobes, 63, of 102 Cramer Ave., reported his property at 104 Cramer Ave. was entered between Oct. 16 and Oct. 30 and 50 feet of copper pipe was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southwest Regional police at 724-929-8484 or by messaging them on their Facebook page.
Weapons charges: Dustin Junior Banks, 34, of 32 Carson St., Belle Vernon, is charged by township police as a convict prohibited from possessing a weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and public drunkenness, court records show. Police said Banks had a loaded .45-caliber handgun when they responded to a fight about 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at 1592 Route 837, the affidavit indicates. He is in the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Drug case: Robert J. Monack, 45, of 642 Sixth St., Donora, is charged by city police with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness over accusations he had 18 Xanax tablets in his pocket when police found him unconscious about 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4 near Geary Street and West Alley, court records show. Police also found six packets of suboxone in his wallet before releasing him to his daughter, the affidavit indicates. Monack is free on $5,000 bond after being arraigned Thursday before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Theft arrest: John Grimes, 31, of 360 Bunola Road, Bunola, is charged by city police with theft, receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle, court records show. He is accused of stealing a key ring about 3:50 p.m. Oct. 4 from Barbara Lechner while she worked and left it on a shelf at a Sheetz on East Main St. and using a key to enter her car and steal cigarettes and a lighter, the affidavit indicates. Police identified Grimes from store surveillance video. He free on $5,000 bond after being arraigned Thursday before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Trespass charge: Terrance Peter Hanna, 68, of Pittsburgh, was charged with criminal trespass after entering The Meadows Casino, 21 Racetrack Road, Thursday afternoon. Hanna previously had signed an agreement of self-exclusion with the casino. The citation was filed with District Judge Jay Weller.
Paraphernalia charge: Laura Biles, 22, of 53 Ramage Ave., Elrama, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident Nov. 8 on Ramage Avenue. Southwest Regional police recently filed the charges with District Judge James Ellis.
Disorderly conduct: Cheri Varner, 31, of 1162 Alison Ave., was cited for disorderly conduct after police said she struck Natasha Mikels, 20, of 41 Imperial Ave., Wednesday. Police responded to the 400 block of Ewing Street for a report of several women fighting. When they arrived Varner had a small cut to her face and said she was punched by Mikels. Mikels admitted pushing Varner but said Varner first attempted to punch her but missed.
Man jailed: Kevin Hodgens, 47, of 25 W. Chestnut St. was placed in the Washington County jail on a bench warrant and protection from abuse violation after he took $5 in change from Laura McLaughlin, of the same address, Wednesday morning, Washington police said. Police found Hodgens walking down Chestnut Street with his pocket full of change, they said. Additional charges will follow.
