Three men were arrested by Washington police after they allegedly entered an apartment on Michigan Avenue after they were confronted by officers about alleged drug activity Friday.

Arrested were Nickolas Donofrio, 21, and Andre Lowe, 19, both of Pittsburgh, and William Fields, 22, of McKees Rocks.

Police were called to 1090 Michigan for a complaint of three men on a back patio who were reportedly involved in drug activity.

When police approached and said they needed to talk with them, they ran into an apartment. Left behind on a table, police said, was a box containing 14 stamp bags of suspected heroin, marked “Call of Duty.”

The three suspects came out of the apartment about 15 minutes later following numerous orders by police to do so. The two people in the apartment, Ronald Wells and Dana Jolly, told police they did not know the three men and also had told them to leave. They also told police they feared for their safety.

The three suspects were charged by city police with possession of heroin, burglary and reckless endangerment. All three were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond each.

A preliminary hearing is set for Monday before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
