Police seek suspect in Union Township robbery attempt

Police were searching Saturday evening for a man who tried to rob a Dairy Queen restaurant on Route 88 in Union Township.

Southwest Regional police said the man entered the restaurant about 8:20 p.m., produced a firearm and demanded money. Unsuccessful, he fled north on Route 88 toward South Park.

The suspect was described as white, in his 20s and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He wore jeans, a green and white striped polo shirt with a black shirt underneath, a black ski mask and black shoes. He was believed to be armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Washington County 911.
