Multiple companies extinguish blaze
Multiple fire companies responded to a structure fire at 607 Crucible Road in Rices Landing Sunday that started around 10 p.m. The pre-manufactured home is owned by Christina Walker of Carmichaels. It was being used as a rental unit but was recently unoccupied, according to Craig Baily, chief of Carmichaels Volunteer Fire Department. Baily said the roof and shell of the residence remained intact but a large portion of the floor was destroyed. Carmichaels, Jefferson and Rices Landing volunteer fire departments were called to assist the Crucible Volunteer Fire Department. Tara Kinsell/Observer-Reporter
