ROGERSVILLE – An Oklahoma woman died in a single-car crash at 11:05 p.m. Thursday on Route 21 in Center Township, state police said.

Malissa Sue Workman, 46, of Duncan, Okla. was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:28 a.m. by Greene County Deputy Coroner Mary Lewis.

Police said Workman was driving west at an apparent high rate of speed when she lost control of her 2004 Ford Focus on a curve. The car ran off the road, over an embankment and struck the side of ditch head on.

The impact caused the care to cartwheel and Workman was ejected from the open driver’s side window.

Police said Workman was not wearing a seat belt and tests would be conducted to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

According to Lewis, Workman had been living in the area with her eight-year-old daughter while employed in the natural gas industry.
