Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off the water on Independent Ridge Road from Porter Street to McElvaine Road in Waynesburg Borough from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today to upgrade the system. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.
West Greene Wrestling Boosters will meet at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the West Greene vo-ag room. Officers will be elected and sprit wear forms are due.
Waynesburg Women of the Moose, Chapter 888, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Guest speaker will be Stacey Stroman from Community Action, who will speak about programs for seniors.
Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 34 of Greene County, will hold its Christmas dinner for members and friends at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Carmichaels Veterans of Foreigns Wars post. The organization’s regular meeting will follow dinner.
Warrior Trail Association will have its annual Christmas dinner at the Hartley Inn in Carmichaels at 3 p.m. Saturday. Waynesburg police Chief Timothy Hawfield will be speaking on the Civil War in Greene County. For more information call Llew Williams at 724-447-2951. This presentation is open to the public.
A community Christmas dinner will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Center Township fire hall, Rogersville. Meat, rolls and beverages will be provided. Those attending should bring a covered dish and Santa is expected to make a visit.
