Margaret L. Vorum, 88, of Washington, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in her home.
She was born March 4, 1924, in Meadow Lands, a daughter of John and Jennie Majcher.
Mrs. Vorum was a graduate of Chartiers Township High School.
She was a nursing assistant for Dr. Safran in Canonsburg and had worked in the pediatric home of Dr. Bayer.
Mrs. Vorum was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, where she was in the Rosary Society and Christian Mothers and Guild.
She was a member of the SNPJ.
Mrs. Vorum loved to cook and had a passion for working with charities.
On August 30, 1945, she married John E. Vorum, who died February 21, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Vorum of Washington; a granddaughter, Maggie Vorum; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Helen Klapatch, and a brother, Steven Majcher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 6, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands, with the Rev. Carmen A. D’Amico as celebrant. Rosary will be recited by Christian Mothers and Guild at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K.
