Ralph Festa of CoventryCares accepts a “What’s in Your Child’s Back Pack” tool kit from Lee Rutledge-Falcione, executive director of Washington County Health Partners Inc. Since 2011, WCHP has been presenting an educational tool kit to legislators, parents and school officials. The presentation and tool kit were developed as a regional effort in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The goal of the backpack is to inform community members about the highly addictive nicotine products marketed to youth. In 2012, CoventryCares signed on to provide some effective additions to the project, making it possible for WCHP to outfit each backpack with an e-Cigarette and e-Hookah. CoventryCares also has helped WCHP create tool kits to be used in the region.
