Suspect arrested in attempted homicide
A fifth suspect in an attempted homicide in Monessen was arrested Thursday in Washington County.
Charleroi Regional police today confirmed they found Antoine Hairston, 19, of Monessen about 1:30 p.m. hiding inside 505 Eighth St. and turned him over the Monessen police to face charges in an attempted shooting Dec. 3 of Jaisen Irwin, also of Monessen.
Hairston and the other four suspects face charges they attempted to shoot Irwin in Highland Manor in retaliation for his alleged boasting of involvement in the killing earlier that day of Chris Fincik, 36, who was shot to death in his apartment in the same public housing section of the city. Police have yet to identify a suspect in the slaying.
District Judge Joseph Dalfonso remanded Hairston to Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bond and scheduled his preliminary hearing for 11 a.m. Dec. 27, court records indicate.
Also charged in the homicide attempt were four other Monessen residents: brothers Joshua and Terrance Stepoli; their sister, Samone Stepoli; and Earl Pinkney.
