A Cecil Township man was placed in the Washington County jail on $250,000 bond Tuesday after being charged with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy in his Lawrence home.

Eric Wayne Smith, 44, of 20 Third St., is accused of assaulting the boy on an unspecified date in August, township police said.

Smith was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Valarie Costanzo charged with sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, false imprisonment, corruption of minors and terroristic threats.

The boy told police he would go to Smith’s house to obtain and to smoke marijuana. On the night of the alleged assault, the boy told police he went into Smith’s home and after the two smoked marijuana, Smith took him upstairs, tied him to a bed and sexually assaulted him, township police said.

After the alleged assault, the boy told police Smith threatened to kill him if the boy told anyone.
