Margaret K. Malinsky, 84, of Richeyville, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in Lasosky’s Personal Care Home, Clarksville.
She was born September 4, 1928, in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late Mike and Rose Kicos Kubicar.
Mrs. Malinsky was a 1946 graduate of East Bethlehem High School.
For 26 years, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk, working in the Fredericktown and Marianna offices. She retired in 1991.
Mrs. Malinsky was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Richeyville, and was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, St. Anne De Beaupre Court 1909 and Beth-Center Senior Citizens, where she formerly served as treasurer.
She enjoyed bowling and reading and delivered Meals on Wheels and participated in the senior games.
Surviving are five children, David Westich of Fredericktown, Marie Westich of San Diego, Calif., Patrick Westich (Martha) of Waynesburg, Marcia Westich-Hawk (Rick) of West Brownsville and Diana Balla (Walter) of Daisytown; six stepchildren, Joseph Malinsky (Nancy) of Union Hall, Va., Robert Malinsky (Marci) of Jonesboro, Ark., Marie Fedorko of Holly Hill, Fla., Gregory Malinsky (Susie) of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Gloria Klemancic (Rick) of Woodbridge, Va., and Cathy Poole; grandchildren Walter Jr., Nick and Aaron Balla, Lydia Calix, Joanna Chahl and Nathan, Philip, Stephen, Susanna, Julia, Daniel, Deborah, Paul, Peter and Andrew Westich; 12 stepgrandchildren; numerous stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her first husband, George Westich, who died in 1972; her second husband, Joseph Malinsky, who died in 1982; three sisters, Anna Corrigan, Mary Podlinski and Vera Kubik; four brothers, John, Mike, Ed and Steve Kubicar; and a brother and sister who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Richeyville, with the Rev. Ed Yuhas as celebrant. Interment will follow in Fredericktown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Agnes Church Building Fund, P.O.
