Emergency personnel were called to a fire in Canonsburg early Friday.

Canonsburg firefighters received a call at 1:36 a.m. for a blaze in a residence rented by Stephen Lee Francis in a nine-unit apartment building at 209 Perry Como Ave.

Canonsburg fire Chief Tom Lawrence said it took about 15 minutes to put out the fire, and there were no injuries. Damage to the building was contained to Francis’ apartment, and the other residents were able to return to their units after emergency personnel inspected them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
