William Hajdu


Member of Daisytown Hungarian Club


William “Byrd” Hajdu, 58, of West Brownsville, died Thursday, December 27, 2012.


He was born Tuesday, January 5, 1954, in Daisytown, a son of Alex and Wilma Kostoff Hajdu.


Mr. Hajdu was a member of Daisytown Hungarian Club.


In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Lori Cusick Hajdu; daughters Rachel Weiss and husband Steven of Charlottesville, Va., and Chelsea Hajdu of West Brownsville; siblings Rick Hajdu and wife Cindy, Linda and Bill “Knooks and Chud” Carins, Lisa Fowler, Frank and Phyllis Simyak, Darcy and Debbie Simyak, Sally and Tony Vadella and Bill and Trisha Cusick; and nephews Shane Hajdu and Eric Rucci.


Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Mariscotti Funeral Home Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, and until 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, when services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Candace Cook officiating. Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

Linda Merashoff


Ellsworth resident


Linda Merashoff, 62, of Ellsworth, died Thursday, December 27, 2012.


She was born July 4, 1950, in New Eagle, a daughter of Robert and Stella Kowaliszyn Merashoff.


Surviving are a daughter, Desiree Whitlow of Ellsworth; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. and Cynthia Merashoff of Scenery Hill; and three grandchildren, Lowell Whitlow III, Dinnika Whitlow and Bryanna Whitlow.


Deceased is her son, Edward Vitek II, in 2002.


Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of services, Thursday, January 3, in Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes Inc., 405 Main Street, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Andrew Scott presiding. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joseph Andrew Pensis

Joseph Andrew Pensis, 64, of McDonald, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, inEwings Manor of Rogersville.


He was a graduate of St. Anthony’s School for Exceptional Children in Oakmont.


Mr. Pensis worked for 30 years in the laundry distribution department of Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he began in 1964.


He was born March 23, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Aimable J. and Emily Marie Vidal Pensis.


Surviving are two sisters, Diane Marie Briggs of McDonald and Jo Ann Dubensky of Sharpsville; a brother, John Vidal of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.


Deceased is a brother, David Pensis.


Friends will be received from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 3, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald. Rebecca Jane Grimes Sensky


Member of Jefferson Avenue U.M. Church


Rebecca Jane Grimes Sensky, 76, of Washington, died Friday, December 28, 2012, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, following a lengthy illness.


She was born April 5, 1936, in Washington, a daughter of the late George and Hazel Hillberry Grimes.


A graduate of Washington High School, she was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church.


Mrs. Sensky had worked locally for many years as a legal secretary, including working for Judge Samuel Rodgers.


Her previous husband, Robert Edward Sensky, died July 28, 1994.


Surviving are three sons, Robert S. Sensky of Hazelton, Eric L. (Jacqui) Sensky of Westerville, Ohio, and Kory M. (Elizabeth) Sensky of Powell, Ohio; a sister, Susan Howell of Washington; and six grandchildren, Michael Joseph, Jennifer, Michael, Elizabeth, Olivia and Luke Sensky.


Deceased is a son, Brad Alan Sensky.


Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of services, Wednesday, January 2, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Dr. Byron Tate Fulton officiating.


Private burial in Washington Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
