Hurricane Sandy shoe drive
Canon-McMillan School District athletic department joined other WPIAL athletic departments in sponsoring a Hurricane Sandy clothing/shoe drive. Coaches were asked to donate shoes, warm-up suits, parkas and other items, and a few Canon-McMillan High School students used their study halls to pack the boxes, label and weigh them. Canon-McMillan shipped out 23 large boxes and more than 350 pounds of clothing. Justine Burnquist, left, and Lucy Baker help pack the boxes.
