Q. My family really enjoyed “Body of Proof.” Has it been canceled, or will we see it in the new year? – Debbie Zielinski, New Berlin, Wis.
A.You’ll see it again Feb. 5. That’s when ABC plans to return the Dana Delany-starring medical drama to the Tuesday lineup.
You’ll also see some casting changes, including the addition of Mark Valley – who previously worked with Delany on the short-lived Fox serial “Pasadena” – as a police detective who has a romantic past with Delany’s Megan.
Q. Will “Switched at Birth” be back? – Kathryn Vierra, Hilo, Hawaii
A. This week, actually. The ABC Family drama starring Vanessa Marano and Katie Leclerc resumes in its Monday berth on Jan. 7 with the official start of Season 2, after its first season was rather prolonged. A nine-hour marathon of earlier episodes will precede the first new one that day.
Q. What happened to “Mockingbird Lane”? I only saw one episode. – Eugene Rubenzer, Cudahy, Wis.
A. There’s a very good reason for that ... one episode is all there has been, at least so far. NBC had high hopes for its intended update of the classic 1960s sitcom “The Munsters,” but reportedly, the reaction inside the network was mixed at best when the pilot was delivered. NBC decided to air it as a special and gauge the reaction, at an appropriate time (during the Halloween season) and paired with an appropriate show (“Grimm”). The ratings were OK, but at least as of this writing, they hadn’t been enough to prompt an order for further editions of “Mockingbird Lane.”
Q. Why was Alexandra Krosney, who portrayed eldest daughter Kristin on “Last Man Standing,” replaced by Amanda Fuller? – Stan Dec, Ellwood City
A. “Creative reasons” is the only explanation given to date by ABC and the show’s producers for the recasting.
Q. Can you please tell me if the Kardashians’ show has been canceled? – Michelle Hayes, Boynton Beach, Fla.
A. Assuming you’re talking about the family’s main reality show and not the spinoffs, not only has “Keeping Up With the Karsdashians” – produced by Ryan Seacrest’s company – not been canceled, E! Entertainment Television has renewed it for at least another two seasons.
