Avella used a strong third quarter, in which it outscored Jefferson-Morgan, 23-7, to grab a 50-37 victory in a Section 3-A game.
Olivia English scored 19 points to pace the Eagles (2-0, 6-4), who trailed Jeff-Morgan, 22-19, at halftime. Mackenna Drazich added 10 points.
Ally Bogden paced the offense for the Rockets (0-2, 4-7) with 15 points.
Charleroi 46, Burgettstown 36: Anjie Tilghman and Corina Gottheld combined for 23 points to lead Charleroi to a 46-38 victory over Burgettstown in a Section 5-AA game.
Tilghman led the way with 13 for the Cougars (4-1, 6-4), who led 24-12 at halftime. Gottheld chipped in 10.
Kristen Roy and Samantha Scopel each scored eight points for Burgettstown (0-4, 0-11).
Bethel Park 70, Trinity 34: Three players scored in double figures to lead Bethel Park to a 70-34 victory over Trinity in a non-section game.
Megan Marecic poured in 18 points for the Black Hawks (10-1), who led 39-13 at halftime. Paige Kochka-Puskar tossed in 14 and Samantha Simpson added 10.
Rachel Phillis had 10 points to pace Trinity (2-7).
Upper St. Clair 55, Canon-McMillan 47: Upper St. Clair rallied from an eight-point deficit at halftime to take a 55-47 victory from Canon-McMillan in a Section 4-AAAA game.
Jordan Serio and Elayna Kaylor each scored 15 points for the Panthers (2-2, 7-3), who outscored the Big Macs, 34-18, in the second half.
The Big Macs (0-5, 3-6) had four players score in double figures. Olivia Lorusso and Brittany Hutchinson each scored 12 points and Justine Burnquist and Danielle Parker each tossed in 11.
West Mifflin 68, Waynesburg 40: Paige Flora tossed in 22 points and West Mifflin used a fast start to take a 68-40 victory from Waynesburg in Section 4-AAA.
Alyssa Cairns added 16 points for the Titans (3-0, 4-5), who led 47-21 at halftime.
Lyndsey Huhn chipped in with 13 points and Michelle Cesa added 10 for Waynesburg (0-4, 3-9).
Belle Vernon 48, Thomas Jefferson 36: Jessica Slagus had 13 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks to lead Belle Vernon to a 48-36 victory over Thomas Jefferson in a Section 4-AAA game.
Kaitlyn Slagus had nine points and 14 rebounds for BV (3-1, 7-3). Jesse Hinkle had 13 points for TJ (1-3, 3-8).
Washington 37, South Side Beaver 30: Mya Gordon had 14 points as Washington pulled away from South Side Beaver for a 37-30 Section 5-AA win.
The Prexies (3-1, 6-4) outscored the Rams (2-3, 4-8) 17-11 in the final quarter.
McGuffey 71, Beth-Center 9: Sammie Weiss had 28 points as McGuffey defeated Beth-Center, 71-9, in a Section 5-AA game.
Rachel Czulewicz added 11 points for the Highlanders (3-0, 9-1), who led the Bulldogs (0-3, 2-6) 46-3 at the half.
Steel Valley 65, Fort Cherry 40: C.C. Dixon had 30 points as Steel Valley topped Fort Cherry, 65-40, in a Section 4-AA game.
Kaylee Labishakl added 15 points for Steel Valley (3-1, 7-3), which opened the game with a 16-4 run.
Rachel Bellhy had 27 points for Fort Cherry (2-3, 4-4).
West Greene 61, Mapletown 22: Madison Raber’s 30 points led West Greene to a 61-22 win over Mapletown.
Emily Courtwright added 21 points for the Pioneers (1-1, 7-3).
Abby Shipley led the Maples (0-2, 0-7) with six points.
South Fayette 42, Moon 28: Emily Anderson and Shannon Gillespie scored 11 points each as South Fayette earned its first Section 4-AAA win with a 42-28 victory over Moon.
South Fayette (1-2, 4-4) opened the game with an 11-0 run in the first quarter.
Moon falls to 2-1, 6-6.
Baldwin 46, Peters Township 21: Mandy Johnson and Taylor Letender scored 10 points apiece as Baldwin topped Peters Township, 46-21, in a Section 4-AAAA.
Madison Kerr led Peters Township (0-3, 3-7) with 12 points. Baldwin is now 1-2, 4-5.
