Watershed alliance to hold annual meeting

  • January 9, 2013

R. John Dawes, executive director of the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds, will be the featured speaker at the annual meeting of the Washington County Watershed Alliance. The event will be held Jan. 30 at Julian’s, 78 W. Maiden St., Washington.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a social hour, designed to provide an opportunity to learn what the alliance and its member watershed associations have been doing to help improve the watersheds in Washington County. The watershed groups will set up displays to showcase their work.

Regional groups, including the West Virginia Water Research Institute and Keep PA Beautiful, that can assist the watershed associations, will be on hand to describe their work. Vendors, such as consulting firms who have worked with the watershed associations, also will set up displays that demonstrate their ability to help solve watershed problems. Dinner will be served about 6 p.m.

Reservations for the dinner should be made by Jan. 18 by sending $10 cash or check, (made payable to the Washington County Watershed Alliance), to the Washington County Watershed Alliance, c/o Jennifer Dann, 2800 N. Main St., Suite 105, Washington, PA 15301.
