CANONSBURG

Warrant arrest: Thomas P. Allen Sr., 29, of 795 Addison St., Washington, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant after he failed to appear for a preliminary hearing earlier in the day before District Judge David Mark. Allen is accused of identifying himself to 911 dispatchers and reporting a road rage incident in Canonsburg Sept. 30. He claimed the other vehicle was a black Honda. When Canonsburg police checked the alleged vehicle involved, they discovered it had not been driven for days. Allen was arraigned before Mark on a charge of false reports to police. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.


CANTON

Sound equipment stolen: Daniel Hartzog of 403 Fawn Drive, Canton, told state police Tuesday a speaker box with two subwoofers and an amplifier were stolen from his vehicle. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.


SOMERSET

Truck wrecks: Randall Johnson, 55, of Robertson, Wyo., faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and several traffic violations after crashing his pickup truck on Interstate 70 east near the Eighty Four exit, Somerset, early Wednesday. State police said his truck hit en embankment off the right side of the highway and overturned, blocking both eastbound lanes. The highway was closed for about an hour.


SOUTH STRABANE

One injured: Claudia Wiencek, 63, of 420 Linda Lane, Houston, was injured Tuesday night when the rear of her car was hit by a vehicle driven by Joanne Shiring, 64, of 960 Redstone Road, Washington. South Strabane police said Wiencek was stopped on East Beau Street to turn left on to Floral Hill Drive. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.


WASHINGTON

Retail theft: Ricky Edwin, 54, of Washington, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger for retail theft, court records show. Edwin is accused of trying to steal potato chips and several shrimp rings Nov. 16 from the Shop ’n Save in Washington by stuffing them into his jacket. Police said he has three prior retail theft convictions. He remains in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.


Assault charges: Preston Robert Beton, 25, of 320 W. Grant St., Houston, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment, court records show. Beton is accused of assaulting his girlfriend Oct. 27 by grabbing her head and striking it several times against the headboard of a bed at a residence in the 400 block of Ewing Street in Washington during a domestic disturbance. He remains in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.


Drug charges: Leslie D. Molinaro, 46, of 990 Broad St., Washington, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Robert Redlinger on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, court documents show. Molinaro was charged after police searched her Nov. 2 near her residence while assisting the Washington County Adult Probation office and reportedly found prescription pills in her bra. She remains in the county jail on $10,000 bond.
