Homemaker enjoyed sewing, bingo, traveling

Rose Rubis Pogoreltz, 91, of Niles, Ohio, formerly of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Niles.

She was born October 9, 1921, in East Brady, a daughter of Angelo and Bertha Oliver Rubis.

Mrs. Pogoreltz was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Church.

She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and traveling.

Surviving are a son, Louis H. Pogoreltz (Kathleen) of Washington; a daughter, Linda L. Snedeker (Robert) of Niles; a brother, Rudy Rubis of Canonsburg; a sister, Blanche McNurlen of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Louis J. Pogoreltz (Renee), Jody Mullen and Robert Snedeker (Carrie); five great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Rosie, Sophia, Eleanor and Christopher Snedeker; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Pogoreltz; two brothers, Misdeo and Victor Rubis; and four sisters, Minnie Toffolo, Jenny Coleman, Constance Thomas and Juklia Bushmire.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 14, with the Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
