Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.


Appearing before Judge Katherine B. Emery were:


Darius A. Duncan, 19, of 172 Jollick Manor, Washington; robbery; charged for robbing a man on East Maiden Street in Washington on July 18; sentence – 5 1/2 to 23 months in jail.


Phillip J. Knittel, 49, of 547 Sixth St., Apt. 2, Parkersburg, W.Va.; receiving stolen property; charged March 14 following a traffic stop on West Pike Street in Chartiers Township; sentence – 1 to 2 years in prison.


Toby G. Fonner, 42, of 297 E. Buffalo Church Road, Washington; first driving under the influence offense, driving with a suspended license DUI-related, possession of marijuana; charged Sept. 13 following a traffic stop on Point View Drive in Canton Township with a 0.109 percent blood-alcohol content; sentence – 92 days to 12 months in jail, $1,500 in fines, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, driver’s license suspension.


Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:


John G. Popivchak, 28, of 375 Locust Ave., Apt. 1, Washington; retail theft; charged Aug. 27, 2011, at Gander Mountain in North Franklin Township; sentence – 12 months of probation.


Sean C. Veatch, 20, of 317 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon; possession of marijuana; charged Sept. 30 following a traffic stop on Maple Drive in Speers; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program for 12 months, 25 hours of community service.


Terrick J. Smith, 18, of 201 Tepee Road, McMurray; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Sept. 22 following a traffic stop on Washington Road in Peters Township; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program for 6 months, 25 hours of community service.


Stephen J. Rittenhouse, 21, of 5576 Florida Ave., Belle Vernon; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Aug. 30 following a traffic stop on Froebe Road in Peters Township; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program for 6 months, 25 hours of community service.


Amber M. Law, 26, of 216 E. Lincoln Ave., Apt. B, McDonald; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Sept. 27 at her home; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program for 6 months, 25 hours of community service.


Denise Bailey, 47, of 463 Center Ave., North Charleroi; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Sept. 11 following a vehicle accident on Fallowfield Avenue in Charleroi; sentence – 18 months of probation.


Tina M. Yeager, 46, of 1157 E. Wilmington Ave., Washington; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Aug. 23 at her home; sentence – 12 months of probation with the first 3 months of intensive supervision.


Iglesias Jones, 21, of 42 Kennedy Ave., Washington; retail theft; charged Nov. 1 at Walmart in South Strabane Township; sentence – 12 months of probation.


Stephen E. Hutchinson, 26, of 1174 Maple Terrace, Washington; theft; charged Aug. 18 for stealing items from a unit at Guardian Self Storage in Washington; sentence – 12 months of probation.


Faith Frendon, 31, of 9 Belmont Ave., Finleyville; possession of drug paraphernalia, false identification; charged Aug. 21 at 150 Hart Ave., Washington; sentence – 12 months of probation with the first 3 months of intensive supervision.


Nathaniel J. Sadlek, 21, of 912 Short St., Canonsburg; possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana; charged Oct. 4 following a traffic stop on Washington Road in Peters Township; sentence – 12 months of probation, 25 hours of community service.


Ryan L. Duritza, 18, of 301 Mary Lane, Canonsburg; possession of marijuana; charged Sept. 9 following a traffic stop on McClelland Road in North Strabane Township; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program for 6 months, 25 hours of community service.


Joshua A. Anderson, 21, of 120 Modisette Ave., Donora; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged Sept. 1 on Modisette Avenue in Donora; placed in the Probation Without Verdict program for 6 months, 25 hours of community service.
