Q. Has Susan Flannery retired, or is she out because of the storyline? – Ann Kelly, West Palm Beach, Fla.
A. One of the founding cast members of the CBS daytime drama “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Flannery reportedly decided of her own accord to leave the show after 25 years. The writers and producers had her character, Stephanie Forrester, succumb to lung cancer.
Q. What happened to “The Newsroom”? My wife and I were really looking forward to the second season, as reported in November 2011. Supposedly, it was in the can. – Clay Kowarsh, Roseville, Calif.
A. A second season would not have been reported in November 2011, since the first season didn’t premiere until June 2012 ... so Year 2 of the HBO series starring Jeff Daniels certainly wouldn’t have been “in the can” before then. That’s being prepared now, likely for a debut early this summer. The 2012 campaign will be a major factor in the new stories, so you can go to the bank on the fact that those wouldn’t have been done in 2011.
