Marshals nab W. Pa. New Year’s shooting suspect
MCKEESPORT (AP) – Federal marshals and others with a fugitive task force arrested a man charged with wounding four people when he was kicked out of a Western Pennsylvania New Year’s Eve party he had crashed.
Allegheny County police charged 20-year-old Julian Sims with four counts of aggravated assault and other crimes for the shooting early Jan. 1 in McKeesport.
Police said Sims was one of four men who crashed the party about 3 a.m. and then got angry when they were asked to leave.
Police said Sims shot three people in their legs or feet and another person in the abdomen. All survived.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Sims who was awaiting arraignment Thursday evening. He was arrested hours earlier in Braddock.
