Carol Ann McClain, 55, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, January 17, 2013, in her home, with her family by her side.
She was born June 30, 1957, in Washington, a daughter of Harvey A. and Marguerite McCartney Engel of Canonsburg.
Ms. McClain was a 1974 graduate of Fort Cherry High School.
She was a seamstress for Ace Reconditioning in Washington.
Ms. McClain was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eagles of Canonsburg.
She had volunteered for the American Cancer Society and was an avid bingo player and Steelers fan.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two sons, John McClain (Valerie Campbell) and David McClain, both of Canonsburg; a granddaughter, Vanessa McClain; two brothers, Dan and Allen Engel both of Canonsburg; a sister, Cathy Lucas (Thomas) of Washington; and a nephew, Jeffrey Lucas.
A brother, Robert Engel, died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, with the Rev. Bill Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301; or First Baptist Church, 215 North Central Avenue, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
