Kurt Bonnet, son of Michael and Lisa Bonnet of Eighty Four, was named to the dean’s list at Waynesburg University, where he is majoring in business management. Bonnet is a member of the Student Senate, PBL Business Club, Student Activities Board and Leadership Program. He won the Boris Ivec Prize in economics, is an AB Miller scholarship recipient and was named to the PAC academic honor roll from 2010 to 2012. He is a four-year member of the men’s basketball and track teams, was twice named first team All-PAC Track and Field in discus and was an ECAC track and field qualifier. Bonnet graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in 2009 and is employed by Southpointe Country Club.


Scott Byrd was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at Waynesburg University, where he is majoring in accounting. His parents are Scott and Christy Byrd of Houston. Byrd is a 2011 Chartiers-Houston High School graduate and is employed by Sodexo.


Mark R. Dami was named to the dean’s list at Waynesburg University, where he is a nursing major. His parents are Rich and Terri Dami of Canonsburg, and he graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in 2012.


Morgan DeGarmo graduated cum laude from West Liberty University with a degree in speech pathology. She was named to the dean’s list every year. DeGarmo graduated in 2009 from McGuffey High School and is employed by Shorty’s Lunch in Wolfdale and Main Street Café in Claysville. Her parents are Randy and Sue DeGarmo of Claysville.


Shelby Ford, daughter of Tim and Jodi Ford of Canonsburg, was named to the dean’s list at St. Francis University, where she is majoring in physical therapy. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, the Physical Therapy Organization executive board and the Emerging Leaders Association. Ford graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in 2011.


Kellie Fromholzer was named to the Presidential dean’s lists at the University of Montevallo in Alabama, where she is a junior majoring in speech pathology. Fromholzer is a 2010 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and her parents are Erick and Lynne Fromholzer of Cecil.


Jared Gilmore, son of Michael and Linda Gilmore of Burgettstown, was named to the dean’s lists at Clarion University, where he is majoring in business management. Gilmore graduated from Avella Junior/Senior High School in 2009.


Dave Milligan of Eighty Four and his two teammates earned a bronze medal in the physics competition at Juniata College, Huntingdon, where he is a senior majoring in physics. Teams of undergraduates had 48 hours to develop a solution to an open-ended physics question. Eighty-one teams participated. His parents are Larry and Donna Milligan, and he is a 2010 graduate of Bentworth Senior High School.


Nicole M. Phillips graduated magna cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in early childhood/special education. Phillips was named to the dean’s list every semester, was a member of the National Society of Honor and Success, was named a Presidential Scholar two semesters and was a peer mentor for 3 1/2 years. Phillips graduated in 2008 from Trinity High School and is employed by KinderCare of Washington. Her parents are John and Pamela Phillips of Washington.


Samantha Ritzer was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she is a junior majoring in environmental geology. Ritzer also was named a Provost’s Scholar for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average above 3.5. She is a member of the Geological Society of Western Pennsylvania. Ritzer is a 2010 graduate of Bentworth High School and is employed by Lowe’s. Her parents are Ed and Linda Ritzer of Scenery Hill.


Marielle Angelique Sargent, daughter of John and Nancy Sargent of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Robert Morris University, where she is a communications major with a concentration in public relations and a minor in sports management. Sargent has studied in Ireland as part of the Study Abroad Program and volunteers for the American Cancer Society and City Mission. The 2011 Washington High School graduate is employed by Pet Smart.


Julia Sprowls was named to the dean’s list at Kent State University, where she is majoring in magazine journalism. A 2012 McGuffey High School graduate, Sprowls is employed by Black Rose, Washington Crown Center. Her parents are Joy and John Orndoff of Waynesburg and Chris Sprowls of Claysville.


Christina Tarbuck was named to the highest honors dean’s list at California University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in elementary/special education. Tarbuck is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed by Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th. Her parents are Michael and Mary Lynn Tarbuck of Washington.


PJ Tatano, son of Diane Tatano of Houston, was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at Penn State University, where he is majoring in petroleum engineering. He was selected webmaster for the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and is a member of the Rules and Regulations Committee for THON. He is a 2012 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.


Halsey Taylor graduated from Waynesburg University with a master’s degree in special education. She previously earned a bachelor’s degree in childhood and elementary education and certification in English as a second language from Washington & Jefferson College. Taylor graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 2005 and is employed at Allison Elementary School. Her parents are Jonathan and Darlene Taylor of Houston.


Kayleigh Verno was named to the dean’s list at Washington & Jefferson College, where she is majoring in psychology. Verno is a member of the Camerata Singers and is employed by Strabane Trails Village Independent Living. Her parents are Chuck and Judy Verno of Washington, and she is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School.

Brittney Bavaro of Washington, cosmetology. She is a 2012 Chartiers-Houston High School graduate and is employed by Holiday Hair.


Ashley Marie Griffith, medical assisting with honors. She is a 2009 Ringgold High School graduate, and her parents are Sherry and Charles Griffith III.


Christian Long, network administration with honors. He is a member of Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society. Long graduated in 2006 from McGuffey High School, and he is employed by Rent-a-Center. His mother is Camille Layton.


Julie Marshman, practical nursing with honors. Marshman is a 2008 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed by Country Meadows. Her parents are Donald and Patricia Catlett.


Jennifer Martin of Washington, practical nursing with honors. She is a 1995 graduate of Clarion-Limeston High School.


Shelby Moschell, medical billing and coding. She is a 2009 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and is employed by Universal Smart Co. Her parents are Ken and Sharon Moschell.


Ashley Nichole Neifert of Fredericktown, practical nursing. Neifert graduated in 2009 from Bethlehem-Center High School and is a certified nursing assistant at TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center. Her parents are Matthew and Janyelle Neifert.


Jennifer Patterson, practical nursing with honors. She is a 2003 graduate of Burgettstown High School, and her parents are Donald C. and Mary Jude Patterson.
