Samuel N. Davis, 70, of Beallsville and Malabar, Fla., died peacefully Thursday, January 17, 2013, in Palm Bay Community Hospital, Palm Bay, Fla., with his family by his side.
He was born December 18, 1942, in Brownsville, a son of the late S. Earl and Ruth Springer Davis.
Mr. Davis was a 1960 graduate of Brownsville High School and a 1963 graduate of Robert Morris College.
A self-employed contractor, he was known for the special work he accomplished.
He had an active life and lived to hunt and fish. He loved auctions, antiques, pottery and Blue Grey Stoneware.
On February 16, 1963, he married Barbara J. Santee, who survives. They shared almost 50 years together.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Diana D. Gillis (Mike) of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael Lapham (Susan) of Punta Gorda, Fla., Aaron Lapham (Kristen) of Belleview, Fla., and Matthew Lapham of Port Charlotte, who blessed the family with a great-granddaughter, Christina Dawn Lapham; a brother, Wilbur Davis and wife Irma of Brownsville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Sara Jean Emery.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, with the Rev.
