Burgettstown Library donation
In December, Burgettstown Community Library received a $13,000 donation from The Mary Ellen Ovington Foundation. The foundation, established in 2008 by Mary Ellen Ovington, continues to give graciously to various nonprofit organizations in our area. Mary Jude Patterson (third from left) is a daughter of Mary Ellen Ovington and a teacher at Burgettstown Area School District. As one of three trustees, Patterson recognizes the library’s need to improve its technology. Through this gift, the library will be able to purchase the necessary equipment to become part of the Washington County’s One-Card System. Also pictured, from left, are interim librarian Kristin Frazier, treasurer Karen Anderson and secretary Maryann Schwartz.
