Ian Aquilino, son of John and Pam Aquilino of Canonsburg, was named to the dean’s list for the seventh consecutive semester at Penn State University, where he is majoring in acturial science in the Smeal College of Business. Aquilino is a member of the university chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and he completed his internship during the summer with New York Life in New York City. He is a 2009 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.


Kelly Marie Blackhurst, daughter of Carla Blackhurst of Washington and the late Kenny Blackhurst, was named to the dean’s list at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where she is majoring in elementary education. She is a member of the Blue and Gold Society and the Education Club. Blackhurst is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed by Jimmy Johns.


Grabriela Brova graduated summa cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in industrial psychology/organizational management. She is a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Psychology Honor Fraternity and Pi Gamma Mu, a history honors fraternity. Brova was named the Outstanding Sophomore Psychology student in 2011 and the Outstanding Junior Psychology student last spring. She is a 2009 graduate of Bentworth High School and is employed by Pier One. Her parents are Victor and Belinda Brova of Washington.


Alyssa Crile was named to the dean’s list for the fifth consecutive semester with a 4.0 grade-point average at Waynesburg University, where she is majoring in early childhood education, prekindergarten through fourth grade, with special education through eighth grade. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society and Drus Women’s Honor Society. She is a 2010 Trinity High School graduate and is employed by Aeropostale. Her parents are Lisa Hegedus and Scott Crile, both of Washington.


Shannon Falleroni was named to the dean’s list at Waynesburg University, where she is majoring in early childhood and special education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society. Falleroni graduated in 2010 from Trinity High School and is employed by Payless. Her parents are Danny and Carolyn Falleroni of Washington.


Kayla Hudak was named to the dean’s list at California University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in communication disorders. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society. Hudak graduated in 2010 from Trinity High School, and her parents are Scott and Lynn Hudak of Washington.


Timothy R. Johnson, son of Kelley Johnson of Claysville, was named to the dean’s list for the seventh consecutive semester at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where he is majoring in biology. He is a 2009 McGuffey High School graduate.


Michelle Klinger was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in childhood and special education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. She is a 2009 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and is employed by Sarris Candy and Bubbles, Bears to Books. Her parents are Randy and Cindy Klinger of Canonsburg.


Matthew Pawlak, son of Mark and Sue Pawlak of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University, where he is majoring in safety management. He is a 2012 graduate of McGuffey High School and is employed by Finish Line.


Julianne Popivchak, daughter of Gregory and Linda Popivchak of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University, where she is enrolled in the honors program majoring in exercise science/pre-physical therapy 3+3. She is vice president of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club and a student researcher for the Student Health Assessment Project. In November, she presented research at the American College of Sports Medicine Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference. She been admitted into the doctorate of physical therapy program at Slippery Rock for the fall semester. Popivchak is a 2010 graduate of McGuffey High School.


Dalton (Taylor) Sprowls graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio with a degree in mechanical engineering technology. He also was named to the dean’s list his final semester. Sprowls completed a two-semester co-op in 2011 with Montgomery Motorsports in Clayton, Ohio, and MoTec in Mooresville, N.C. He has accepted a position with Chapman Corp. in Washington. Sprowls is a 2008 graduate of McGuffey High School, and his parents are Joy and John Orndoff of Waynesburg and Chris Sprowls of Claysville.
