George Harold Reynard

U.S. Army veteran enjoyed watching baseball

George Harold Reynard, 78, of Canonsburg, died Friday, January 25, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

He was born February 10, 1934, a son of the late George M. and Marjorie Howard Reynard.

Mr. Reynard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from September 5, 1950, until his honorable discharge July 16, 1952, with a rank of private, first class. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal – Germany.

Mr. Reynard worked in maintenance at the Washington Mall and retired from Church of the Covenant in 1996.

He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Mr. Reynard was a lifelong member of Meadow Lands United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Paul (Shirley) Reynard of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Ruth (Jack) Pilgun of Washington; a special nephew, Andrew Yelanich; nieces and a nephew in Missouri; two nephews in Indiana; and special friends Bob and Regina and Stephanie, Tera and Bernadette.

Deceased are two sisters, Shirley J. Reynard and Jane Nicholls.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 1, in Meadow Lands United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Debra D. Rogosky officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Lands United Methodist Church, 535 Pike Street, Meadow Lands, PA 15347.
