Viola Henley Gaska Smith
Viola “Vi” Henley Gaska Smith, 90, of South Strabane Township, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 12, 1922, in Hillsville, Va., a daughter of the late Andrew T. and Myrtle Bolen Henley.
Mrs. Smith was a former saleswoman for Sol Mintz clothing stores.
She was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, Washington.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed cooking, baking and time spent with children.
Her husband, Benjamin Smith, died in 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, the Rev. Beverly E. Gaska of Greensboro, N.C.; a special aunt, Marye Cochran of Jamison; cousins, including a special cousin, Marty Henley of Jamison; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Andrew, Elmer and Dyer Henley.
No services are planned. Private burial will be in Washington Cemetery at a later date.
