West Penn Power retiree enjoyed golf and fishing
Michael “Sam” Bagan, 68, of Monongahela, River Hill, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
He was born June 14, 1944, in New Eagle, a son of the late John and Mary Kossar Bagan.
Mr. Bagan had worked in the maintenance department at West Penn Power, Mitchell Power Station, until his retirement.
He was a 1962 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School.
Mr. Bagan was Byzantine Catholic.
He was an honorary member of Monongahela Neighborhood Boys Club and enjoyed golf and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Chickie Hillman Bagan, whom he married August 28, 1971; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle Bagan of Forward Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Tony Howard of Wexford; a brother, John and wife Margie Bagan of Bentleyville; a sister, Mary Ann Lutz of New Eagle; three grandsons, Anthony, Jackson and Preston Howard; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother-in-law, James Lutz.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Friday, February 1, in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, www.marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, with his friend, Frank Sloan of Free Indeed Ministries officiating. Interment will be private at the family’s request.
