Three arrested after SWAT standoff

  • January 31, 2013

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police say three men are in custody following a SWAT standoff that began with a report that a woman was being held against her will.

Police say by the time they arrived, the woman wasn’t in the home. But the occupants refused to come out of the home in the city’s Perry South neighborhood and SWAT was called because there was a report of a weapon on the premises.

Police aren’t identifying the suspects or the charges they face, but say the men surrendered about 5 a.m.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, which began sometime after 3 a.m. Thursday.
