Hickory church begins new sermon series

  • February 14, 2013

Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 Main St., Hickory, will begin a five-week congregational focus on “Five Practices of Vital, Growing, Fruitful Congregations” at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday worship services.

The five practices include radical hospitality, passionate worship, intentional faith development, risk-taking mission and service and extravagant generosity. There will be five weeks of household reading and praying daily for the mission and ministries of the church, and five planning groups will explore new ideas and possibilities for improving and expanding ministries.

This week, each household is encouraged to read seven devotions and prayers on “Radical Hospitality in Cultivating Fruitfulness.”
