Cameron Banasick, son of John and Kerri Banasick of Washington, was named to the president’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at West Virginia University, where he is majoring in civil engineering. It is the third consecutive semester he was named to the dean’s list. Banasick is a member of Engineers Without Borders. He is a 2011 graduate of Trinity High School.
Brooke Bennardini of Marianna, granddaughter of John and Darlene Stauffer of Marianna and Sandra Bennardini of Bentleyville, was named to the dean’s list at California University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in secondary education. She graduated from Washington High School in 2012.
Jordan Brooks was named to the dean’s list at California University of Pennsylvania, where he is majoring in theater. He is a member of Alpha Psi Omega National Honorary Theatre Fraternity, was in the fall production of “An Evening of One Acts, A Musical Christmas Carol” and is studying voice through the Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy. He is a 2010 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School, and his parents are Carl and Valerie Brooks of Waynesburg.
Olivia Duball was named to the dean’s list at Washington & Jefferson College, where she is majoring in psychology with a minor in gender and women’s studies. Duball is a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha Academic Excellence Honor Society. She is a 2009 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are John and Cheri Duball of Washington.
Marissa Manko was named to the dean’s list for the seventh consecutive semester at Slippery Rock University, where she is majoring in sports management with a minor in coaching. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and the Sports Management Board. She is the head junior varsity girls basketball coach and assistant varsity coach at Slippery Rock High School, a PIAA basketball official and is employed by Landmark Event Staffing. She also worked as an intern for the Tulsa Shock of the WNBA. Manko is a 2009 Trinity High School graduate, and her parents are Anthony and Wanda Manko of Washington.
Saeed Mouzaffar, son of Abduljalil and Marcy Mouzaffar of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Colgate University, where he is majoring in international relations/economics. Mouzaffar is vice president of the class of 2015, manager of the women’s ice hockey team, vice president of the Brothers of Colgate, secretary of the finance club, group leader of Colgate Trading Group and a member of the Budget Allocations committee and the campus planning and physical committee. Mouzaffar is a 2011 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed by Office Max.
Robyn Alaina Roux of Bellflower, Calif., has graduated cum laude from Point Park University, where she was named to the dean’s list every semester. Roux majored in global cultural studies and completed internships at the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights in Pittsburgh, International Rescue Committee in San Diego and Playing for Change Foundation in Los Angeles. Her parents are Sandy Roux of Bentleyville and the late Robert Roux. She is a 2009 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School.

Lauren Sakerka graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She received the Chiang Award and the Fulton Memorial and Stuart Memorial scholarships. She completed four cooperative education rotations at BASF Corp. in Monaca and was named Cooperative Education Student of the Year in 2012 by the university. Sakerka was the project manager of the Engineers Without Borders, University of Pittsburgh Makili, Mali Fish Farming Project, and was a member of the 2010 implementation team that traveled to Mali. She will receive undergraduate honors at the university’s 37th annual Honors Convocation. Sakerka is a 2008 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are John and Joan Sakerka of Washington. She is employed by Exxon Mobil in Baytown, Texas.
Samantha Sakerka, daughter of John and Joan Sakerka of Washington, graduated from Carlow University, where she majored in creative writing. Sakerka received the 2012 Marilyn P. Donnelly Award in Poetry, and her work has been published in the university’s literary and arts journal, The Critical Point, and the “Pittsburgh City Paper.” Sakerka worked as the open-mic emcee for the Hungry Sphinx Reading Series, which is coordinated by university students, and has been on the dean’s list multiple times. She is a 2007 Trinity High School graduate.
Kristen Scopel was named to the dean’s list at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where she is majoring in photography. She graduated in 2011 from Burgettstown High School, and her parents are Jay and Sandra Scopel of Burgettstown.
